About Me

I understand that we all struggle in life, and I believe that no one should have to do it alone. When working with my clients, I am open, non-judgmental, and real. I believe that you are the expert in your life, and I am simply here to be a guide and coach towards your own self-awareness. We will work on learning skills for how to better cope with life circumstances, as well as explore deeper issues that might be holding you back from being your full self. My goal is to guide you back home, to the love, wisdom, and truth that is YOU.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Colorado and Wisconsin. My training is in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology, which emphasizes looking at the whole person (mind, body, spirit), mindfulness, and emotional/body awareness. I am also a trained nature-based life-coach, utilizing the natural world as a therapeutic approach. I am certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) that is used in healing trauma. I have provided therapy in a domestic violence outreach center, a transitional living center that treated issues like addiction, eating disorders, depression, anxiety and low self-esteem, and as a crisis therapist working with individuals with suicidal thoughts or psychosis. Currently I provide community-based therapy to adults who suffer from anxiety, low-motivation, depression, bipolar, and ADHD. Although these diagnoses can be helpful for understanding a group of symptoms, I focus more on the person and less on the labels.

Some things you can expect from therapy with me: I will support you and see the best in you, even if you can't. I will listen and give my insight, but will not tell you what to do or who to be. I will work with you on your patterns of mind (ie. negative thoughts), body (diet, exercise, body-image, etc.), and spirit (beliefs, faith, hope, dreams, etc.), integrating all to find the best version of health for you. I will occasionally use humor because, hey, sometimes laughing at life helps! I will be open to your feedback and focus on your goals - after all, this time is for you. If you have a history of trauma and this seems to be getting in the way of your life, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an option we can discuss.

I believe in you. I know you can live your best life possible, and be the person you want to be. You already ARE this person ... so let's work together to unleash your potential.

Tina asks challenging questions and really listens to my responses. She does a fantastic job of making an online relationship seem personal. She has pushed me towards healing more than any other counselor I've had has ever done!

The work with Tina was really a life-changing experience in a point where I was giving up on a therapy because of some bad experience. She really helped me understand myself and, mainly, realize that I deserve to live a happy life.
