About me

Welcome to Better Help! I'm so glad that you chose to take steps toward a healthier and happier you! Life and all its many struggles can be overwhelming. I understand and I'm here to help!

My name is Tina Warhurst and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Utah, with a degree as a Master of Social Work from the University of Utah. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including trauma, depression, anxiety, grief/loss, relationship issues, attachment issues, parenting problems, career challenges, obsessions/compulsions, and life changes/challenges. I specialize in working with individuals who have experienced trauma, whether that is from recent events such as a car accident or military service, or from other types of trauma including physical/sexual trauma or emotional abuse, both recent and from childhood.

I work within a variety of modes of treatment. I am trained and certified in EMDR treatment for trauma. Trained in IFS, DBT, CBT, TF-CBT and Motivational Interviewing. I am a Registered Play Therapist Supervisor with training in expressive techniques such as sandtray therapy and expressive arts. My approach combines both talk and experiential counseling.

My counseling style is warm and interactive. I believe in the power of the relationship between therapist and client to help gain a deeper connection to Self for healing. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don't believe in judgements or stigmatizing labels. I believe that each individual holds within them the power to change and thrive given the right information and support. I believe that most people need to be seen, heard and understood before taking on the task of change. It would be my privilege to be that support for you. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs.

It takes courage to work for a more fulfilling and happier life, to become whole and healed, and to take the first steps towards a change. If you are ready to take that step I am here to support and empower you.

I look forward to working with you!

I update her on things on the messages and in the journal and she always responds in a good amount of time and with a good response. I have never had a therapist that I’ve liked so much. She has done years of healing in just our first two sessions. I’m keeping her forever!
