About me
The goal of counseling is to find ways of reconnecting with our sense of authenticity and purpose which is crucial for long lasting psychological healing. Anxiety, grief, anger, and insecurity (the four horses of neurosis) are wild and untamed when we feel separated from our true nature. When we are grounded in our identity, we are able to use these uncomfortable feelings as tools of navigation instead of experiences to be fought and suppressed. My approach to counseling looks for opportunities of supporting underlying depth in order to integrate the full spectrum of experiences into a meaningful whole.
This approach to counseling is good and effective for those who are specifically looking for an added dimension of psychological process, who do not want to identify with being a victim, but, instead, wish to use the present crisis as a catalyst for growth.
I have close to 20 years of counseling experience, an extensive background in depth psychology (MA Pacifica Graduate Institute), have lived and worked with indigenous people on rural Hawaii, Navajo Nation (Arizona), Thailand and Myanmar. For the past 7 years I have been working with service members and their families at installations through out Asia and Europe.
