About me

Each of us is on a tremendous journey in this human life, and sometimes we find ourselves struggling to meet its challenges. As a Contemplative Psychotherapist, I understand that the qualities we need to meet those challenges abide in our very nature—resiliency of heart and clarity of mind. My goal is to help you connect to those qualities and bring them into relationship with yourself, especially when you are experiencing loss, hardship, painful transitions, or suffering caused by trauma or addiction. Emotional and cognitive tendencies, relational patterns, and areas of “stuckness” may point to aspects of you that carry wounding and the adaptations you have made to protect that wounding. Together we can invite in those aspects and explore them with kindness, curiosity, and the understanding that they do not define you, but are parts of a vast and dynamic system of self. I draw from contemplative traditions, Jungian Psychology, Object Relations Theory, and mindfulness modalities such as Gestalt Psychology and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I seek to create a compassion space in which you can explore, understand, and transform your life.

I hold an MA in Contemplative Psychotherapy from Naropa University in Boulder, CO, as well as an MA in English Literature/Fiction Writing from New York University. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Virginia and Colorado, and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in New York.
