Tomi Barbour

About Me

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Wyoming. I have ten years experience owning a private practice clinic in a larger-sized Wyoming community. I have also worked in a community mental health clinic, the Veteran's Administration, and at a treatment facility for teens/children. I have a broad base of knowledge for treatment of many mental health issues including depression, anxiety, family strife, divorce, eating issues, and general life adjustment issues. I have completed the training to become a certified trauma professional. I also practice hypnotherapy and specialize in the psychology of eating.

My counseling approach is eclectic. Each person is an individual and I work with my clients to find a treatment plan that works for their specific needs. My clients would described my style in session as genuine and warm. I am as interested it what is going well in your life as to what is not going well. I like to find the unique strengths of each client in order to utilize skills they already have. I care about each client I meet with and treat them with kindness and compassion.

I am appreciative everyday of the career I have. I know how hard it can be to trust a new person or a new process, so I am grateful to get to be a part of someone's journey.

Tomi has helped me so much and I’m very grateful for her help

Tomi is a great listener and asks probing questions to help me focus objectively on a given situation. In such a short space of time I have found that I’m thinking differently and regularly stop to ask myself how situations make me feel rather than boil away and get angry, Highly recommended

Counselling with Tomi Barbour feels very personal, thus making me feel comfortable. Tomi also responds in a way that allows me to have deep analyzation of my feelings and situation. It's been really great getting help from Tomi.
