About Me

I am a native New Yorker, a lover of stories, and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. As a graduate of Columbia University’s Counseling Masters program, I use my education and experience to assess the needs and goals of each client to tailor an approach that is effective and comfortable for each individual. I utilize a client-centered approach to ensure that each individual feels secure and can take full advantage of the journey of therapy. I encourage mindfulness and remaining present in the here-and-now, while finding value within the past and the insight it can offer into the present.
After working for over four years in substance abuse treatment facilities, I have extensive experience assisting individuals who not only have substance use disorders, but who also struggle with anxiety, depression, PTSD, identity development, self esteem issues, relationship struggles and so more. I am a fangirl of growth, change, and personal achievements where the only competition is your former self. I would be honored to assist you in your own quest toward your best self.

Tonie is stellar. She’s up to date with what’s happening in the world and how it could directly impact me. She listens, points out potentially negative behavior in a constructive and non-judgmental way. She genuinely wants the people she talks to to do better and have control over that. Thanks so much!

This was my first time in 34 years talking to anyone professional. It was scary and I was nervous about the how and who. However, I was assigned Tonie, and from the very first session I was so grateful. I’ve spent my whole life searching for answers and never finding any - Tonie made me feel like I was closer to discovering them, or better yet, changed my perspective and made me realize I didn’t need to be looking. She’s everything I imagined a perfect therapist to be.

Tonie is the best counselor. I’ve had therapy before but Tonie makes me want to continue. She understands what I’m trying to say and helps me through it all. She gives amazing advice and is always there to listen.

Tonie has helped me tremendously in only two sessions. Her energy is amazing and I can't believe how quickly she pinpointed certain patterns/habits/solutions and how quickly she came up with ways to tackle each one. I feel so comfortable speaking to her and she makes me feel important, like I matter and my voice is heard. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HER!
