About Me

The psychologist Carl Rogers stated, "The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change."
Self acceptance is at the heart of healthy functioning. By accepting ourselves we open up our heart and mind to the wonderful possibilities life has to offer.

I am a licensed professional counselor in Texas. I graduated from the Seminary of the Southwest with a degree in Counselings. Before completing my degree I volunteered in several positions that allowed me to sit with people who were hurting. I take my role as counselor very seriously and place my relationship with clients at the heart of the work that I do. In addition to my degree, I have trained in Dialectal Behavior Therapy and EMDR. I have also received advanced training in trauma and post traumatic stress. I have helped people from all walks of life, race, age and faith backgrounds. I have extensive experience helping clients who have served as first responders , active duty military and veterans. In addition to EMDR and DBT, I also liberally use mindfulness and meditation to help my client develop coping skills and grounding. I utilize CBT to help people struggling with depression and anxiety.

The relationship between client and therapist is at the heart of effective counseling. A secure client/therapist relationship develops the trust needed to process through painful and difficult feelings. I take pride in offering a client-centered and collaborative experience to my clients.

Written by A.D. on Oct 01, 2020 after counseling with Tracie for 2 weeks on issues concerning depression, stress, anxiety, relationship issues, trauma and abuse, grief, intimacy-related issues, self esteem, and adhd

I decided to consider counseling after traumatic experiences begin to come up again . I couldn’t pin point what triggered me to go back into the feelings I had then on my own . I was very nervous at first but Tracie is very communicative and knowledgeable. She made me feel comfortable telling my story and giving me options to help heal. During this pandemic my stress levels like many are through the roof and before I slipped into a deep depression I wanted to seek help. I would definitely recommend the BetterHelp app as well as my counselor Tracie to anyone in need .

The ability to talk to someone outside my own home has been a great help and experience. Tracie seems to understand that I have an unique lifestyle and many challenges that go along with that. She also seems to know that I need to hear confidence that I can continue when things get hard and still let me vent when I need to. I would strongly recommend this app and her to anyone needing the ability to see counseling and help for their struggles.
