About me

Life can be confusing. Things happen that don't make sense and can leave us confused, angry, or lost. Sometimes our own behaviors add to the feelings of chaos and confusion. To make sense of yourself and the world, sometimes you need the perspective offered by someone else. Therapy isn't easy, and you won't find your way back to "normal" without digging deeper, but change is possible.

I offer practical strategies for behaviors while seeking to understand your life story and personality. My counseling combines practical advice and addressing the underlying patterns contributing to your struggles. To do this, I draw on a variety of different techniques to understand your circumstances and provide you with resources and encouragement to make changes.

While I do offer practical help, I don't provide simple answers. I believe growth is a process of trying, failing, breaking, stumbling, trusting, and moving forward with others. If we do this faithfully, we will see our struggles redeemed into something beautiful.

As for me, I've been working with people for nearly 30 years as a mentor, recovery coach, and counselor. I completed my education at Covenant Seminary in St. Louis, Missouri, where I received two Master's Degrees, one in Counseling and one in Theological Studies. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Missouri.

Reviews

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Travis Stewart. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

Travis is great! He is able to take how I feel & relate it to ideas I have not thought of before. I have had a lot of “Light Bulb” moments that I wouldn’t have picked up on my own. When I don’t know what is making me feel a certain way, Travis is able to help me break it down & search for the real reason. Usually the answer is inside of me instead of the outside influence I think it is. He’s helped me to look at situations from a new perspective instead of reacting on pure emotion.

I’ve only been doing sessions with Travis for a short amount of time now. I’ve been a little unsure of the whole therapy process from the beginning, but Travis has made the whole process extremely easy. He asks questions that really get the wheels turning which is why I think he’s fantastic at his job. He’s very personable and kind. I would highly recommend him!
