About me

You are taking a very positive step by exploring therapy opportunities and I would like to thank you for taking a moment to visit my site. My name is Tricia L. Colbert and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) as well as a Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC). I am also certified as a National Counselor (NCC), Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS) for mental health and Certified Clinical Supervisor (CCS) for addiction with extensive experience working in the clinical setting for over 18 years with a broad spectrum of clients with mental health and addiction disorders.
My mission is to help individuals and their families become healthier in order to successfully cope with challenges for a better quality of life in a supportive and confidential setting whether it be in person in my office or through online counseling.
I use a holistic approach where a blend of elements from different modalities is used in order to tailor treatment to the client’s individual needs. Some of the psychological approaches used are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Person-Centered Therapy as well as Mindfulness Meditation. With empathy and insight we will work together as a team to build on strengths and attain personal growth.
In addition to providing psychotherapy, I also provide quality clinical supervision (coaching, consulting, and mentoring) as a credentialed clinical supervisor who has both the Approved Clinical Supervisor Certificate (ACS) and the Certified Clinical Supervisor Certificate (CCS). Together we will develop self-awareness, clinical knowledge and skills for your professional practice.

I don’t know a lot about Tricia, and she doesn’t know me very well either, but despite that she has always been extremely respectful and mindful of my feelings, without being coddling or enabling, which I appreciate greatly. One thing I was a little worried about starting counseling was being judged for everything I shared with my counselor, as I’ve heard some bad experiences from friends in regards to their different places they've been and counselors they’ve seen. But that has not been the case with Tricia. Even though we’ve basically just met, and we don’t speak too terribly often, I can tell she cares about my mental health as well as just me in general.

Tricia, is a very nice person who takes time to listen to the issues and speaks so kind. I really liked how she handled my scenario so well and never did she make me feel that she was a therapist to me. Thank you Tricia, you're so good at what you do!
