About me

It takes strength to seek a more fulfilling and peaceful life. If you are ready to take that important first step, I am here to support and empower you. My passion is bringing healing to people that may not see their own strength or purpose during a difficult time in your life.

My education through Drake University along with my professional background gives me a unique and effective approach to counseling. Attending Drake University has challenged my intellectual and emotional growth and greatly sharpened my professional skills in helping people to lead healthier and more fulfilling lives. Working as a counselor with a diverse population gave me a glimpse into the issues surrounding mental health in our society.

I am a trauma based counselor licensed in Iowa with years of experience working as a counselor in a wide range of practices. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, self esteem, career challenges, trauma, substance abuse issues, life transitions and adjustment issues, addictive behaviors, personality disorders, criminal thinking and behavior, anger and stress management.

My counseling style is warm, considerate and non judgmental. I believe in treating everyone with respect and compassion. Each client is diverse and I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. I offer a safe space to do the tough work of personal growth.

I look forward to working with you!

Tristin is awesome! Very sweet and helpful. She understands my concerns and tries unique ways to help with my problems. She’s very easy to talk to and comforting.

She's very kind and a good listener, however I have only figured out how to schedule half-hour sessions, and so far I feel that every time I start to get into the flow of conversation, the session is over. It would be helpful to be able to schedule hour-long sessions I think.
