About Me
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in North Carolina, who for many years have been counseling people who are dealing with depression, anxiety, poor anger management, problems within their intimate relationships, communication problems within their family, parenting challenges, grief/loss, adjustment issues and job loss. My counseling framework is a combination of Person Centered therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I believe that as a Mental Health Practitioner, my role is to empower clients to be the best expert on their life by teaching them tangible/realistic skills to help replace maladaptive thought patterns and behaviors that have caused chaos in their lives, with positive ones. This is accomplished through psycho-educational activities geared to increase the client’s ability to identify situations that trigger the negative thoughts/emotions/behaviors and learn new ways to be proactive at catching the problem at the onset, so that it does not turn into a conflict that zaps energy taking away from living life at their highest and best. My clients are often provided with counseling homework activities that help to reinforce the skills discussed during the counseling session and asked to report back on progress.
In addition to my work as a Psychotherapist, I have over 5 years of experience working as a School Social Worker. I have empowered parents with strategies on how to advocate for their child within the school district, while reducing their levels of stress.
My counseling style consists of three main philosophies
1. To create a counseling space that is welcoming, safe, and warm and provides people the space to be their true self, free from judgment.
2. To be aware that clients are resilient and have the natural untapped skills to combat life’s obstacles. It is my job to help them build upon their inner strengths, while teaching them realistic coping skills to help them effectively address their problems.
3. To know that counseling is like a dance, the client always leads, and my role is to hold my client’s accountable, assisting in reaching their goals so they can mentally, emotionally and spiritually dance through life’s most challenging situations.

Reviews
These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Tyeast Edmond. We don’t pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.
My therapist was very professional. Listened to my situation and was very honest with her comments.
Very concrete and effective. Very warm and wholesome. Very professional and engaging. Ms. E is direct with a healthy dose of compassion. I definitely want to continue our sessions!
Very pleased with my therapist Tyeasy Edmond. She ahas been instrumental in helping me find my voice . She definitely will push you outside of your comfort zone, Best advice so far is " get comfortable with being uncomfortable ".......look forward to my next session with her!!
She is good at what she does, and gives you the best tools to do the work, you might think of doing something one way and she just knows before you can say anything, it’s in your mind to say it but she gives you the best options and that makes me feel comfortable
Very patient, good listening skills, I’m happy I started my session with her!
I really like my therapist and actually referred a friend to her/Betterhelp.
I went to therapy 3 times prior to BetterHelp - with psychiatrists, psychologists, and licensed clinical social workers. I waited for LITERALLY years to try again because I was so disappointed, disillusioned, and discouraged by the whole process. I felt un-helpable for lack of a better word. When my husband suggested BetterHelp, I was skeptical and worried about cost. The money spent is absolutely the best money I'm spending. The lengthy questionnaire to get to Ms. E has been beyond worth it. If you need real talk, Ms. E is your therapist. While giving it to me straight, she's respectful of my emotions, aware of my needs and tendencies (in a relatively short amount of time mind you), and gives me "homework" a.k.a. practical application of things we discuss and things to work on each week. We build on what we discuss each session. I could go on and on but words wouldn't do it justice. Just experience it for yourself - and feel better.
Ms.E is tough, but it comes from a good place. She is also very kind and caring. She really listens to my concerns and works with me to figure out the next step forward. Very grateful for having her as my counselor.
She is a great! Has an ability to put you at ease quickly. I feel safe in disclosing personal information with her. She knows how to ask the correct question at the correct time. I’m so happy I have found her.
Tyeast is the best! She really takes the time to learn YOU and what’s causing pain or anxiety. I can never thank her enough for her guidance and support !!
I'm very grateful that GOD has lead me to you. I truly appreciate you.
Tyeast was an incredible counselor. I've never worked with such a warm, caring person before, and I always looked forward to our sessions. She helped me find strength within myself I didn't know I had, and I'm a better person because of her support.
Wonderful and attentive specialist!
Tyeast helped me a lot! She is extremely honest, a great person if you need to bounce ideas off and an amazing listener. I truly enjoyed working with her and recommend her if you have issues with self esteem, relationship, and anxiety.
Shes amazing 5 stars every session!
Ms. Edmond is one of the highlights of my week. She listens, she’s helpful, and helps me to uncover and unpack things that have helped me to live with less anxiety.
Great ! Try her out & find out.
Great insight, positive, and uplifting
Tyeast was warm and caring and gave me the confidence in myself that I needed to make the right choices.
Ty is kind and consistent. When I need a firm foundation, she'll provide it, but she'll also be particularly warm when that's more appropriate. I had no expectations of this experience w/ Betterhelp or Ty specifically, but Ty has been an absolute gift. I've grown a lot thanks to her efforts
My counseling experience with Tyeast has been extremely helpful so far. She listens, asks probing questions, and gives wise counsel. I always look forward to my sessions with her.
Tyeast Edmond is absolutely great to talk to. She is able to listen and give you sound advice on all the many things that we all face in life. She shows her experience in the words of wisdom that she gives you. She is a superb counselor.
I love her. I have gone through many years of therapy before without much progress. However, I have progressed more in a few months with her than I have done in the last ten years. The best part about her is that she’s experienced in both her profession and life overall. Even though she does have a higher degree, what draws me to her is that she has practical life advice that is more important than anything you find in a textbook. I can’t recommend her enough.
It only have been 2 sessions, but I feel confident enough to continue further.
Tyeast is awesome!
Ms Edmond is a great counselor. She is very in tune with my counseling needs. She is very good and giving me the support I need while also being real with me in a respectful way. She does not enable me to fall back into old habits and she challenges me to do my “homework” which is there for my personal benefit and growth. I feel that while I am not done with therapy by any means, but I have come a long way thanks to her.
I was hesitant to try counseling again since I hadn't had good experiences in the past. I am so glad I gave it a chance and even more thankful that I was paired with Ms. Edmond. She challenges me, holds me accountable, and also encourages me. I look forward to my sessions every week and know that she has helped empower me to make positive changes for myself.
She has made me feel at ease.
Tyeast Edmond is a wonderful counselor. She is friendly, yet professional. An excellent listener and easy to talk to. She offers thoughtful insights and poses challenging questions that really make you think and progress quickly.
Thanks you better help. My counselor Ms. Edmond is really great. She cares for her patients. She finds time anytime. She really helped me a lot.
Tyeast is kind and tough. Which is what you want in a therapist if you want to get down to work. Don't expect to get coddled, you will be expected to participate in making your therapy work for you.
