About me

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in New York State with over 3 years of experience in the field working with at risk youth and parents. Clients have trusted me to work with concerns around depression, anxiety, loneliness, parenting and relationships. I have also assisted people ADHD, OCD, sudden life changes, and couples related issues. My experience with men's issues and anger management have also helped clients in the past. Clients have come to me to seek assistance around emotional and physical trauma.

My goal is for clients and myself to build a collaborative relationship in which we work together to create a counseling experience that they find helpful. My style is client-focused, empathetic, and promotes an open dialogue for constructive growth. I draw my style from concepts including cognitive-behavioral, solution focused, motivation interviewing and rational-emotive. I encourage you to be open about the counseling experience so we can best customize the experience to be the most effective and welcoming for change. This allows me to use my experience to create the best possible approach for you.

I celebrate clients who are getting the initiative to start the process towards change and I am excited to join you on this journey. I look forward to creating an environment for change and working with you.

Reviews

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Tyler Jansen. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

I was very skeptical starting therapy and worried about not being heard or understood. Tyler has changed my perspective on therapy completely. He has been very patient with me and allowing me to open up to him at my own pace. He takes the time to understand my thoughts and ask questions that are thought provoking and helps me see a different perspective.

Tyler has been extremely helpful to my investment in my mental health. I really appreciate his honesty and his willingness to dive into different topics that I want to discuss.

Thank you so much for making this such a positive experience!
