About me

I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of California, who is also a certified Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapist. I have over 14 years of experience working in the mental health field and I have served a diverse population with extensive experience with grief/trauma, Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), relationship issues, parent coaching, family relational issues, addiction issues, and Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD). My experience includes several modes of therapy which include, but aren't limited to the following: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Solution Focused Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. Throughout my career I have consistently provided individual, couples, family and group therapy. I believe an important part of my role as a clinician is to continue educating myself in order to ensure utilizing the most effective interventions and resources for my clients. Additionally, I believe it is important that I remain active in the movement of diminishing the stigma of mental health issues and increasing awareness, which is also linked to my work with suicide prevention.

I am very passionate about the work that I do and the people I serve. I approach each person as a unique individual and not a disorder or circumstance. I believe in encouragement, empowerment, validation, increasing self-awareness and coming from a strength based perspective. While I believe in empathy, patience and individuality I do believe I have mastered the art of finding a balance between these and challenging discouraging hurdles!

Taking the first step to taking care of yourself is the most difficult step of all and I am honored to be a part of your process! I look forward to meeting you.

She’s incredible!!

Wonderful experience so far ! She allows me to run on and speak freely while making me feel that she listens to everything I’ve said, even when I ramble. This is my first time seeking out a professional therapist as well and she has made easy for me to talk about myself and experiences. As someone who is pretty shy to talking about my past, she makes me comfortable to do so by allowing me to go my own pace while guiding me with advice at the same time. Would highly recommend her, especially for people who are looking to try therapy for the first time.

I've had three sessions with Valeh and I can already see my behaviors changing for the better. Doing this was the best decision I've made all year. I give Valeh the highest recommendation.
