About me

My professional passion is utilizing a strengths-based holistic approach to demystify the counseling process. Often when people are seeking counseling, they are in pain and may feel confused about what next steps to take. I advocate for "meeting people where they're at," and you can count on me to come alongside you on your journey to find good answers and create meaningful change in your life. Some of my approach is based on the notion that the past informs the present, so I believe it can be relevant and useful to explore any issues or experiences that feel unfinished or incomplete for you. Addressing any carry over from past experiences also helps you decide what you might keep from your lived experience, and what you have outgrown. I also introduce aspects of CBT and mindfulness as helpful strategies to better understand your unique mindset and becoming more present in your mind-body connection.
My clinical experience includes working with teens to adults from all socioeconomic backgrounds who experience depression, anxiety, and other mood disorders. I also think it is important to support you in cultivating coping strategies to manage the stress of meeting daily responsibilities and life transitions. I am comfortable with any topic you might need to process.
I have great interest in treating grief and trauma, and feeling disconnected from Self or in other interpersonal relationships. In couples counseling I facilitate a practical and empathic approach to helping couples repair their relationship and restore harmony and satisfaction. I have taught educational classes on substance abuse recovery, trauma-informed care, healing loss & grief, and topics related to personal identity development.
I have completed dozens of training programs in many facets of mental health care and continue to enjoy learning for my own professional and personal development. I put care and consideration in finding effective and applicable personal development resources to supplement counseling support.
I believe in creating emotional safety, encouraging healthy, straightforward communication and respecting each person's limitations and boundaries. Counseling is work, but it is an investment in yourself no one can take away from you! I look forward to being part of your journey toward self understanding and empowerment.
