Deciding to reach out for help can be a strangely tough thing to do, yet my clients tend to say afterwards how much they enjoy therapy, and they wished they had done it sooner! With that in mind, welcome. I think you’ll find counseling can be not only an eye-opening and helpful experience, but one that lets you go places and learn things you never realized were even there.
A little about me, I’m a licensed therapist in Delaware with over seven years of experience in the counseling field. I believe that for one to find true happiness, we must first be true to ourselves. Many clients I work with state they are unhappy but can’t quite pinpoint why. We can feel depressed, anxious, have moments of feeling completely fine, then have sudden moments of despair. I find that success in working through this can be in gaining greater insight to ourselves, who we are, our passions, our direction in life.
I enjoy helping my clients through this journey of self-discovery. The “ah-hah” moments are often the very thing needed to implement positive changes in our lives. From there, it’s a lot easier to apply coping skills and put into action the plans we have in mind. Courage and confidence can be obtained from deeper self-awareness.
I have experience working with a wide range of clients, including those suffering from anxiety, depression, dealing with relationship issues, post-partum depression, and survivors of abuse. In my counseling approach, I begin with a person-centered style built on a therapeutic relationship of collaboration and encouragement, and I incorporate other areas such as existentialism, cognitive-behavioral, and psychodynamic as appropriate based on the personality styles and needs of my individual clients.
Sometimes, we just need a little support and assistance in seeking other perspectives. If you’re at a point where you can feel it’s time for that support, well that’s my passion and I’m here to help!

Vanessa is an incredible active and reflective listener. She is very validating, while providing very specific questions and feedback that are relevant to my situation and/or therapy goals.
My particular situations include "coming out*, emotional challenges, marital challenges, and workplace performance challenges.
The work I am doing with Vanessa has been essential in helping me heal from trauma.
Vanessa is a safe sounding board and intelligent therapist. She has had a monumental impact on my wellbeing. I feel "heard" when I speak with her. She is timely in her response, never rushed, and sincere. She challenges me to find my answers and provides subtle directives or alternate perspectives that allow me to see and process things differently. Wonderful experience and therapist.
She's very attentive and able to multitask. She also doesn't make me feel like any of what I bring up is unimportant. Talking to her seems easy and natural as if I were talking to a friend and it has brought a sense of light to my life in helping me rethink situations and open my eyes to ways I act and react.
Extremely knowledgeable and supportive. Puts things into perspective and absolutely makes me feel better!! An absolute professional at what she does!! She has helped me immensely!
Vanessa is so wonderful and caring. I feel like she listens to me, cares about me, and wants the best for me. She also checks in with me when she hasn't heard from me in a few days, which I really appreciate. She gives good concrete advice, has me do really useful exercises to help me get to know myself better, and shares good resources to look into. I feel like my self-awareness has increased, and I feel more grounded since starting to work with her. I still have a lot more work on myself to do, but I feel very supported by her in this journey.
Vanessa has been a great support to me in our shirt time in counseling. She is responsive, approachable, a great listener who always gives profound and actionable feedback. I look forward to my sessions with her and know that if I send her message, she will get back to be with great feedback.
She is amazing. She lets me say what I need to and helps the best she can. It really makes me feel better when I get to talk to her. I was never one to seek help, but just these couple weeks she has helped make a difference in my life.
Vanessa listens, communicates, and understands my needs. She is flexible and accommodating, meeting me where I am at and allowing me to grow and open up at my own pace. She is comforting and knowledgeable which gives me the confident to be open and truly enter in.
I love Vanessa! She is a great counselor and person! Our sessions help me so much. She helps me through whatever I have going on and it is so nice to have her to rely on. I highly recommend her!
Vanessa has been amazing! I feel heard and understood and I've been given a foundation of advice that is helpful. She is caring and can steer through emotions that are difficult for me to understand but she gets it. She is timely in responding which when you're in the thick of things is such a relief to have her words of encouragement and a step to getting through. She is great!
Vanessa is very responsive and really gets me to open up and think! I feel like things are going well with her.
