When life becomes overwhelming due to a major event such as grief, transition, or other experiences to knock you off balance, it is helpful to reach out and ask for help. As a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California, I appreciate the work of therapy to assist others in developing a better life with less emotional pain, reduced distress, and some relief from major transitions or loss.
I have specific training in grief and loss as well as working with the older adult population. I offer a supportive, caring experience with sensitivity to the unique needs and concerns of my clients. Our situations do not occur in a vacuum but are encased in family and societal expectations. I seek to encourage a positive, healthy outcome to life’s challenges with providing relevant tools and interventions using Cognitive Behavioral techniques as well as other modalities to assist with healing.
Having experience in raising a family, being an indirect caregiver of a parent, and loss of a sibling, I have observed and participated in the entire life span. I am also aware of the challenges surrounding being in an environment (school or work) with those who do not share the same cultural experiences.
Older Adults (55+)
I also work with those who desire a Christian perspective, pre-marital and marital issues, and self-esteem issues.
