About me

My goal is to help others grow, regain peace, joy, and healing in their lives by providing nonjudgmental counseling, empathy, encouragement, and support to achieve wellness. I believes in working collaboratively with you to help you define the tools needed to overcome obstacles, deescalate situations, make better choices and negotiate positive outcomes to be the best you can be.

My approach is partnership. The client and therapist decide together what are the major issues and how to work on through them together. Please be aware working on emotional issues can be painful and you may feel even worse as you confront your past and present conflicts as you journey towards wellness. During the therapeutic process you will identify troubling situations, be more aware of thoughts, emotions, and beliefs about problems, identify negative and inaccurate thinking and reshape negative or inaccurate thinking by learning coping mechanism so you can move toward a healthy and fulfilling life.

I am a dedicated, knowledgeable eclectic counselor using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Emotional Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Client-Centered Therapy, EFT and Mindfulness. I have experience working with adults (21 - 75 years old) from diverse socio-economic and cultural backgrounds. I have assisted those struggling with anxiety, depression, substance abuse, relationships issues, domestic violence, home/school/work concerns, SI/HI, anger, bullying, trauma, and crisis intervention.

Prior to making a life changing decision to help others I worked over twenty-five years in the corporate world as an Executive Assistant. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology (2001) and Master of Arts in Counseling (2004) from Webster University in St. Louis, MO. I began my career in Social Services in 2006 and became a Licensed Professional Counselor in 2012 in Missouri and received her Texas license in 2017.

I am a current member of the American Counseling Association (ACA) and Texas Counseling Association (TCA).

Reviews

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Veronica Johnson. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

My only issue is with scheduling. I wish there was a way for me to have the same day and time for every session. Other than that I couldn’t be happier with my experience thus far.

Veronica has been incredible! She is friendly, approachable and has a wealth of knowledge on a lot of different aspects surrounding mental health. I can not recommend her and betterhelp for the part both have played in my mental health journey.

A really sweet and motherly figure who is inclined to sit and listen. She waits for you to finish a thought before helping you backtrack and examine your conceptions of your experience. I'm hoping to do a lot of healing with her help
