Welcome to Better Help! You've taken a huge step and I am excited to begin our work together.
My name is Veronica McKnight and I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Florida. I earned my Social Work degree, from the Silberman School of Social Work in New York in 1993. I've worked in many different settings with individuals and families who have a variety of personal issues such as depression/anxiety, stress, trauma/abuse, addictions of all kinds, communication in relationships, and parenting challenges. Over the past 26 years as a clinician, my experience has taught me that the most important aspect of counseling by far is the connection and comfort you feel with the person you choose to share your personal struggles. I use a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with a strengths based, solution focused approach. I believe we can all grow through challenging experiences by increasing our self-awareness. We all want to be able to share our personal truths and be accepted and understood. I feel that listening and feedback help to promote insight and healing from life's issues.
You are welcome to message me anytime through Better Help. The frequency with which you can have access to a counselor to work through day to day emotions and problem solving is extremely beneficial and a nice change from traditional outpatient counseling. I usually check messages twice each day, six days per week (off Sundays). I offer messaging, live chat and phone sessions with availability in the early morning and weekends. Please note that what you see in my calendar may not reflect my only availability so you always want to check that out with me through messaging first.
I look forward to working with you!
I also have experience in relationship issues, family conflict, trauma, intimacy-related issues, anger management, self esteem, career difficulties, and chronic mental health issues.

I’ve been working with Veronica regularly for some months now and it’s made a tremendous difference for me. I was in a really bad place when we began and I’m slowly gaining strength. What she provides beyond professional insights and help (that are needed) is lack of judgement and genuine supportiveness. So when you just need someone with whom you can be vulnerable or to whom you can admit fears and self-judgment, she’s there. And I love that I can journal and wrote to her anytime BC sometimes your worst day is in between sessions and you need somewhere to let it out .
Veronica and I are still new to each other, but she listens well and always has something helpful to share. I can be pretty negative at times, and she is helping me guide my thoughts to a better place.
Thank you, Veronica.
Veronica is a great therapist. She is patient with me and talks with me about my issues. She has been a great resource to help me improve my relationships with family members and friends. I appreciate her help during tough times.
I'm pretty new to working with Veronica but feel like this has been really helpful. She really listens and when she provides input, it's really helpful and goal oriented. I think as we spend more time talking and address deeper issues she is the right sounding board for me.
Veronica is friendly and professional. She's helped me tremendously. I would definitely recommend her.
I’m grateful for her continued support and investment in my growth.
She is very experienced and able to relate to whatever I am going through. She offers great advice and never makes me feel crazy. She is a calming light even through texting.
She has been an angel sent! We set goals when I first started with Veronica and I feel like through talking things out with her I’ve maintained a level head and achieved my goals. Now living my life with a little more confidence, and 100x more free than I ever dreamed I could be. I don’t think I ever could have done it with out her!
She’s amazing! If you want someone who really cares and checks up on you I recommend her. She’s great with anxiety management, grief, life changes and a great help if you’re trying to improve/talk about either your relationships or your interpersonal skills. Lovely therapist and would recommend!
Veronica is a supportive, kind, non-judgemental person...Therefore, a great person to tell your problems too. You really feel like she goes out of her way to empathize and understand what you’re going through and helps you feel less guilty and more in control of your life.
I really enjoy working with Veronica! She has been a wonderful source of support for me going through a tough time with my marital issues. Veronica not only listens but she also helps you to understand how you feel if your confused, she also genuinely cares about you, and she responds timely. I truly feel like I am not alone in my situation, Veronica told me she would help me get through this tough time and she really has shown it through her counseling expertise. I am really glad I was matched with her.
I love Veronica! Even after only one session, I felt so listened to and she was immediately able to give me a key piece of insight that I had never even considered before. That new perspective really changed something in me. I cannot wait to continue learning and growing with her.
Veronica is understanding and empathetic. She listens to my concerns and worries and acknowledges them and helps me find ways to cope and better understand them.
Veronica is great and has really helped with my confidence. Our text messaging is a nice reminder during the day that I’m working through this every day. Not just once a week.
Veronica is a fantastic and professional therapist. She is extremely open-minded and understanding with a friendly, non-judgmental demeanor. I would highly recommend her to friends, family, or colleagues whether they are new to therapy or seeking to return to counseling services.
