Victoria Miller

About Me

Hello and welcome!
Thank you for reaching out, especially during this time of extreme difficulty and uncertainty. I know the struggles of anxiety and depression seem insurmountable, and with the current state of the world you may be feeling this tenfold right now.

With anxiety we often feel overwhelm, panic, stress, like we want to run away. With depression we have no motivation, no desire to do anything and if we "force" ourselves to get out there and "do something" we end up regretting it. And when these issues affect our relationships then everything seems wrong. If the life you want, the goals you have, the relationship you desire, seems too far out of reach or too difficult to achieve therapy can help. Besides anxiety and depression I also specialize in interpersonal relationship problems, issues of self-esteem and self-worth, and therapy for healthcare/patient care workers.

Depending on your particular situation therapy can be just a few sessions to address small issues, or for larger issues can be more in depth over a series of sessions. I use tried and true programs such as Emotionally Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, and Strength Based techniques.

You will find me compassionate, down to earth and friendly.  After a thorough assessment you and I will develop a treatment plan together.  We will build on your strengths so you can gain confidence as a foundation in finding new ways to handle life's challenge.  During our time together we will continue to assess and develop a strategy of treatment tailored to your individual needs. It may not be easy, and it may not happen overnight, but I assure you that the ability to change and grow is within yourself!

**TERMS: It is important for you to know that my availability is limited and part time only, and that there are terms you need to agree to prior to starting to work with me:
- Monday-Fridays your messages will be responded to within 24 hours. Saturdays & Sundays you will receive a response within 48 hours.
- Holiday and holiday weekends you will receive a response the next business day. You will be notified ahead of time if I will be unavailable more than 72 hours.
-- Video sessions, Phone sessions, or Live Chat sessions can be scheduled with me once per week on weekday evenings or Fridays during the day.
-- You will need to complete a "History & Assessment Form" prior to our first session.
***If any of these terms are not acceptable you will have the opportunity to choose another therapist.***

Everyone has within them courage, strength, and resiliency. No matter what your therapy goal I believe in your ability to overcome challenges and move forward to live the life you desire. The first step is to reach out, which can feel uncomfortable, but it is a healthy way to grow. It's a big step but contacting a therapist is an accomplishment and sign of progress and growth in itself. I am ready to help you take the next steps from there.

Victoria is compassionate and kind. When I needed help obtaining medical services for my mental health while my insurance was in limbo she provided me with lists of places where I could get those and gave me hope after months of feeling hopeless and helpless. She also gave me insights into diagnoses that I'd been given by doctors who never explained what my conditions meant. I now feel more empowered and like I know what to ask for when I do see my primary care physician and it's going to be beneficial for me when I have to navigate my healthcare providers system.

Victoria Miller is great - she has really helped me overcome some significant depression surrounding my loss as a result of the Camp Fire in Paradise CA and as I continue to heal from that loss she is now helping me cope with day to day struggles as I re-learn how to live and engage in a world far away and quite different from the life that I lost to that horrible fire. No one wants to "Need Counseling" but this has been pivotal in my recovery and desire to move forward with the process of living, day to day, each one at a time and one step forward.

Victoria treats me with respect and listens. She asks questions to get me thinking and offers praise and encouragement in good measure too. She is caring, kind, and responsive. Highly recommend her.

Victoria has many ideas that are helpful. She didn't push to have me do her choice of things, but left me free to explore my own inner self. I've been a therapist to others, and she offers very professional suggestions. Thank you, Victoria.
