Managing stressors; improving self-esteem and self-efficacy; overcoming significant events; and becoming our true and genuine selves are often what we strive for in life. This can be overshadowed by our own negative and self-defeating thoughts and actions, and negative impactful experiences. As a therapist and empowerment coach, I have helped people overcome these barriers to become their genuine and authentic selves using various methods, including cognitive-behavioral, emotionally focused, and experiential methods, as well as virtual coaching. My focus is on empowering people towards their best solutions and encouraging the development of their most authentic selves through discussion and activities that involve tapping into their personal resources and discover new ones.
I earned my Masters of Science in Community Mental Health Counseling from Villanova University in 2011, Masters of Education from Widener University in 2013, and earned my Doctorate of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Human Sexuality from Widener University in 2020. I have completed various post-master certifications, including Mental Health and Equine Specialist designations with the Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association; Mindfulness practitioner from Penn's Program for Mindfulness; and Post-Master's certification to work with Veterans and Active Duty service members.
My specialties include individuals who are pre-and post-bariatric surgical patients, body image, self-esteem, sexual self-esteem, anxiety (including PTSD), depression, relationship/ partner concerns, and life coaching. The main modalities I employ include cognitive-behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, emotionally focused therapy, and family system therapy.
