About me

"If we share our story with someone who responds with empathy and understanding, shame can't survive." -Brene Brown.

Hello! Welcome to BetterHelp. Reaching out to find a counselor is the first and sometimes hardest step in moving toward helping yourself. Well done. I would be honored to be a part of your journey. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the states of Virginia and Florida. I graduated in 2001 with a Master's degree in Social Work from Indiana University, and have over 10 years counseling experience (I took a few years off to raise four children). My experience includes working with children, adolescents, families, couples and older adults in the clinical setting, schools, as well as intensive in-home counseling. I am most experienced in treating issues related to anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder (aka OCD), phobias and depression. Each individual is unique and requires a personalized approach. I strive to provide an environment that puts clients at ease in order to feel heard, safe, and capable of being open and honest about their thoughts and feelings. If this can be accomplished, we can work together to develop a treatment plan to achieve your personal goals.

You are welcome to message me through BetterHelp at anytime. Intense thoughts and feelings can occur anytime so having this outlet can be very comforting. I check my messages throughout the day (Monday-Friday) and will be available for sessions through messaging, live chat, video and phone. You choose what feels most comfortable. I look forward to hearing from you and working together!

When I started therapy I was on the brink of ending everything. But Ginger literally pulled me back to life. She was such a gentle soul guiding me through the harsh parts of therapy, and a wonderful companion through the fun parts. Thanks to her I was able to grow as a person. I can't thank her enough for her work!

Ginger is a fantastic listener and pulls from my previous sessions to inform her responses to new information I provide, advance or start new discussion, or recommend ongoing practices for me to incorporate in my life. I’m so glad I was matched with someone who is able to bring their whole selves to our conversation to help me become whole.
