About me
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Texas, living in central Texas. I received my Bachelors degree in psychology at the University of Texas as San Antonio and my MSW in Social Work at Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, Texas. I have 27 years experience as an LCSW with the Veterans Healthcare Administration and 3 years with community agencies. I have worked with clients that have a wide range of problems: mental health issues, relationships, coping issues, phobia's, life struggles, homelessness, incarceration, religious indoctrination.
For fourteen years I worked exclusively with individuals incarcerated and released from incarceration as well as their families to resolve a plethora of issues; decision making, reducing the return to incarceration, family reconnection, housing, employment, health care, and reviewing healthy life options.
I use a client centered approach and understand how family, partners, friends and community can impact the well-being of an individual. My approach to therapy for a client is gentle, genuine, non-judgmental, and respectful. I am sensitive to the needs of and use a therapeutic approach with those that have been psychologically harmed by others relating to sexual orientation issues, racism, sexism, misogyny, jealousy, control, sexual harassment, and sexual/physical/mental abuse .
