Do people ever describe you as "too sensitive" or "a worrier"? Do you struggle with overthinking, negative thoughts, and emotions that come up as a result? Maybe you get stuck in the thoughts in your head or swept away by emotions that feel too big, and you worry you're falling behind, not good enough, or are missing out on some bigger purpose to this life.
You know (or hope) there's a better way or you wouldn't be here now, and you're right. Working together, we can blaze new trails and mark new paths to get you moving toward a more meaningful, fulfilling, and enjoyable life.
I'm Whitney, a 40-something licensed professional counselor in lovely rural Colorado. I came into this career later than some; prior to becoming a counselor I worked in animal rescue and taught yoga (and did other odd jobs) while raising three kids on my own, gradually putting myself through school in the meantime where I earned a B.A. in Sociology and an M.A. in Counseling. I value compassion, empowerment, love, acceptance, play, laughter, mindfulness, gratitude, commitment, resilience, and relaxation. (And books, cats, and naps.)
I'm here to listen and empathize, to offer a fresh perspective and honest feedback, to teach skills and offer resources, and to support you as you make the changes you want to see in your life. My therapeutic approach draws from person-centered (Rogerian) counseling and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, and we can also add humor, play, and other creative approaches (using movies, video games, books, etc) depending on your interests. My counseling style is warm and empathetic, and I will treat you with compassion, respect, sensitivity, and acceptance - regardless of sexuality, gender, race, religion (or none), relationship status, pot-smoking status, or whether you prefer cats or dogs. (I'm a cis queer woman and my pronouns are she, her, and hers.) I am experienced in helping people with anxiety, depression, and other common mood disorders, but I do not specialize in addiction, eating disorders, or sex therapy.
I know it takes courage to take that first step toward change and I'll be here when you're ready. Whether you work with me or another counselor, I'm glad you're here and getting ready to reach out.

Whitney is amazing. She's understanding and empathetic and always listens to what you have to say. She provides amazing resources and articles to help explain what to do and how it will help you when you're experiencing symptoms. Whitney is so easy to talk to and even when you have slip ups or days where you don't make the best decisions, she's always there to support you and help pick you back up to get you on your feet. Truly the best counselor I've ever had and I wouldn't want anyone else.
Whitney is a great listener, and offers great advice, feedback and suggestions to improve my life and solve existing issues. I totally would refer her to anyone who needs therapy.
Whitney Glenn is a fantastic Councilor she was able to help me make great discussions and lead me in the right direction. I would most highly recommend her, she is truly outstanding.
She’s been really helpful with understanding more about my situation and it’s been nice to talk to someone who understands me.
I started seeing Whitney for anxiety and stress surrounding my career, life path, and social interactions. After only one month, I'm already starting to feel better and more competent in my decisions and interactions with others. She is professional, caring, and a wonderful listener - I know because I often ramble! ;) I would recommend her to others and will continue to see her as my own counselor on BetterHelp.
She has helped me so, so much. I am very lucky to have her support. Very professional, friendly, considerate: tells me what I need to hear in a loving way. Genuine. She is more than worth the money.
Great person to talk to about anything that's going on. After the sessions I feel a lot less anxiety. Still a work in progress, but hoping to beat those demons with time.
I was working with Whitney on a few issues I had after my recent move and starting a new job. She provided very helpful support that I can apply in my life and helped me overcome a few issues I had quickly. She was very kind and warm hearted and I would work with her again in the future.
Whitney is helping me through a challenging transition period in my life. Texting has made therapy possible with a busy schedule.
So far so great! I very much enjoy talking to her. She has had several helpful suggestions. She is also kind, compassionate and intuitive. I feel like she genuinely knows what she's talking about and is eager to help me in any way that she can. I feel supported and that this is a good match.
WOW! I have received so much insight from just the initial session I had with Whitney! She is a very understanding person that is more than willing to listen to your problems. I feel like I can be open and honest with her without the fear of being shamed or put down. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
Whitney has been the perfect counselor and guide for me. She seems to understand exactly what I need and am looking for. But more importantly, she is genuine and cares about my progress. In the 2 months or so I have been working with her, I have noticed a massive difference in myself that has exceeded my expectations at this point! I can't wait to see what else Whitney helps me accomplish.
Whitney is very qualified to help with all my issues. She really gets me!
Whitney is an amazing counselor. She really takes the time to listen to my needs and goals while always helping me be open to creative ways of thinking about problems. I am so grateful for her expertise, but more importantly, her compassion. She makes a huge difference in my life with her work and I really am a better, happier person because of the skills we have worked on.
Whitney has been tremendous in helping me out with my anger issues. She has helped me develop a long-term plan to get it under control. I am so thankful for everything she has done for me. I feel like a new (better) person.
Whitney is down to earth and really easy to talk to. She is open minded and a great reader/listener and provides actionable steps to take in our communications.
Whitney has been wonderful. Communicating online has been a great way to interact with my counselor. Whitney listens and makes our interactions genuinely therapeutic.
Whitney Glenn was very helpful in my time of need. Very caring, and kind.
Before I started this I was unsure on how this would turn out, especially since it was online., but so far it's been the best thing for me. I feel like I'm finally working on my issues whenever and whereever. Thank you so much Whitney.
Whitney has been a god-send. She is absolutely marvellous at identifying exactly what it is we should be focussing on. For me it was anxiety. She has helped me with loads of practices for reducing anxiety in different circumstances. She is also a very good listener, very warm and present. I find this service great, because I can check in with Whitney whenever things come up, as opposed to once a week in a standard counselling format. Whitey is generally very available for texting, letting me know when she's not going to be available. This provides a sense of safety and comfort. I also enjoyed talking to her on the video session. She helped me get things clear in my own mind and heart.
Whitney is an incredible resource for anyone dealing with personal life issues. She is attentive, supportive, and empathetic. One of the best decisions I’ve made for my personal well-being in a long time.
Whitney is an amazing counselor. She is compassionate, never judgemental, kind and an excellent listener. I am currently going through a difficult phase in my life and she has been a wonderful presence. I always feel stronger and much better after contacting her. Even though we are based in different continents, her support is excellent. I am so thankful for working with Whitney!
Whitney has been an invaluable help and strong support in me working through my issues and overcoming them. She's consistently asked questions that made me think about my problems in a new way, and offered constructive ways to dealing with various things - through techniques, ideas, perspectives and also work sheets. Coupled with her professional skills, she's prompt to reply, a good listener, and I feel she cares about helping me find the best way forward for me. I highly recommend her and couldn't be more satisfied.
Whitney is amazing. She and I can pick up where we left off every time and she is always very respectful. 10/10 would recommend!
Whitney has been nothing short of amazing over the last month. We worked together on many issues and she has always proved compassionate, helpful and flexible, adapting perfectly to my demands and needs. If you ever get the opportunity, do pick her without a second thought!
Whitney has been working with me for a month now, when I was probably at my worst! She has been very understanding and very helpful! I only wish I could see her for my regular therapy! I've been seeing various therapists over the span of about 15 years, and she is the best so far! And I'm not sure there are any better, to tell you the absolute truth! I was able to open up some things with her that I've never shared before. She has tools that have helped a lot! I am a better person for having worked with and learned from her!
She understands me and is very helpful. If I didn't have her I would be lost.
Whitney Glen is an amazing counselor. She listens and responds without judgement. She uses a variety of ways to help make the process as successful as possible.
