About me

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and have worked in in education, criminal justice, with LGBTQI individuals, addiction, and families. I enjoy working with people that recognize that as hard as they try, it can be challenging to keep it all together. Life can be really stressful. Family conflict, relationship struggles, self-image, trauma and hard memories, sexuality, work demands, LGBTQ+ issues, school pressures, money, stresses... all of it can feel really overwhelming.
I enjoy working with people who want to take whatever their next best step is, whether it is toward healing a relationship, ending a relationship, developing a healthy sense of self, or figuring out how to reach a goal. I approach my work with clients from a person-centered, non-judgmental place. I am not the expert on you, but you are. Even if the waters seem murky right now, I can help you on your journey.
I have a warm and accepting disposition, and use solution-focused elements to help move toward desired goals, cognitive behavioral techniques to challenge unhelpful thoughts, and motivational interviewing to help gain understanding and clarity. Outside of therapy, I am also an artist, and if it works for you, might just encourage you to use creativity as part of your journey.
It can be nerve-wracking to find a therapist that you trust and feel comfortable with. You're taking an amazing step by just looking. Whatever is showing up as a barrier for you right now, I would love to work with you to make progress in the areas that are important to you.

It took me years to find the right therapist and Whitney is exactly what I was looking for. She is such an open-minded, non-judgmental and caring person. Her session with her felt like talking with a trusted friend, and they flew by so quickly. I knew when I started my first session that I was giving myself 6 months to get better, and meeting with Whitney weekly had an impact on my progress I can't even describe ! The best part is probably the fact that you can also feel that while you are learning from her, she is also learning from you. It is a real relationship which enabled me to feel confident enough to open up and grow. Thank you so much Whitney !

I have been in Whitney's care for several months now, and the sessions with her have helped so much. I've gained clarity on a lot of issues, and it feels great to know that I can trust her to always be honest with me and tell me what I need to hear in the moment.

It was a big step for me to ask for help but I’m so glad I did. I wasn’t sure what to expect however Whitney immediately put me at ease and I felt the time was well spent. This is such a wonderful opportunity.

Whitney is very good at what she does. She is supportive, kind, and challenges a person to grow all in equal measure. She always seems to know how to tell when to be gentle and when to be frank, and is flexible and creative. I really admire her expertise and will be sorry when I move to a different state soon and we have to wrap up. But, I’ll be excited for someone else to be able to work with her!
