Dr. Means is the only therapist you will ever need. He is a gift and literally is the only therapist that actually makes you feel heard as he provides the best advice. He actually takes the time to listen and understand you whereas others don't take the time. Do not be discouraged that he doesn't do video or chat sessions but his text option makes it so much easier as you can just text daily when you have a question or issue. I think this option is much better than the other therapists I had where we do one video or chat session and sometimes you don't get all the points you have across or they take long to respond whereas Dr. Means is always there for you. He is so kind, relatable, and understanding and I can't recommend him enough. If you need a therapist, choosing Dr. Means is the right way to go! Thanks Dr. Means and can not wait to continue this journey!

Dr Means created a genuine connection and safe space for me. He listens and responds effectively with the most sound perspective. I’m happy to have him as a counselor.

Dr. Means is wonderful to work with and I'm grateful to have been matched. He has taken the time to thoroughly outline what I need to work on and consider, and is great at responsiveness and follow up. He is text only, which at first I was hesitant about, but now I actually think it is the best way; it really made me formulate my thoughts more and I can also refer back to the conversation so nothing is lost or forgotten. (Can't remember how many times I walked out of a traditional counseling session feeling overwhelmed, not sure what I should have taken from it or like it was a lot of wasted time). In general, I think this kind of communication and working with Dr. Means is a great option even if you're not sure where to start but know you want to sort yourself out and get a grasp on your individual struggles. I reached out for help with anxiety and he made such immediate, practical recommendations that I was able to apply much of it right away and it made a big difference. He will also recommend medical recommendations as appropriate (like making sure MD has checked any applicable underlying contributing factors if appropriate) and he has other resources to recommend as well, which I think is very helpful. I appreciate that he takes a well-rounded approach (best in the long run), but also that even an initial chat with Dr. Means could definitely get you started on the right path. I've gone in circles for years, but when you know you want to get off the merry-go-round it's awesome to have someone be able to actually help steady you. Like anything, you will still need to be involved in decision making and put in the energy to determine what is really best for you and/or your relationship/if you need to see someone jointly/family/values/beliefs. You will need to make the time to do the work in yourself - but even the tiniest step can make a HUGE difference!

I've done this before, but I feel Dr. Means is "on the ball" with how he responds to me and how he understands my problems. He goes out of his way to research things for me at times. Even though we only do counseling via messaging, I believe we have a good connection together.

I have participated in counseling and therapy often on for the majority of my teenage adult life. With being an adult comes all of the adult responsibilities of work, life, marriage and I found it extremely difficult to find time to go to the counselor's office within my busy workdays. I even tried Teletherapy through my insurance company but they didn’t have enough time slots that fit my hectic schedule. I have participated in counseling and therapy often on for the majority of my teenage adult life. After a quick Google search, I found better help and was matched with Dr. Means later that day. It has been so refreshing to be able to send messages and receive quality care on my time! We have only just begun, so I know I have a lot of work ahead but I feel entirely comfortable and confident that he will help me reach my goals.
