About me

I am a licensed professional counselor in the state of Texas. I graduated from Sam Houston State University in 2015 where I focused on grief and trauma, play therapy, and art therapy. I enjoy working with people in transitional stages of life, marginalized groups such as minorities and LGBTQ+, families seeking to improve communication, and anyone looking to solve the problems they face in everyday life. I believe you don't have to be broken to benefit from therapy, and no problem is too small or too big to address.

My counseling style is to provide a warm and accepting therapeutic relationship. I come from a background of person-centered therapy, meaning I do not pretend to be an expert in session. I believe nobody knows someone better than they know themselves, and I like to collaborate with my clients to achieve their goals. I am well versed in cognitive behavioral therapy and solution focused therapy and will often draw upon those to supplement sessions.

Therapy is a tool that can help improve mental health, and even if I am not the right fit for you, I encourage everyone to see mental health as important as they do physical health. If you have ever felt that no one understands or you would like to better understand yourself, I would be happy to listen with non-judgmental ears.

Yarely is very helpful. She listens to my concerns and keeps me stable with the issues I'm facing day to day. She is also flexible to meet my needs.

I was really scared about reaching out getting help for my mental health. I've gone through therapy before quite a few times and I never felt that my counselors actually got me completely. I am so glad that I took that step and signed up for betterhelp since it landed me Yarely. Since I've started working with her, I feel seen and heard. She listens and always is able to give me the solid guidance I need in regards to becoming the best version of myself. Talking with her is comfortable, almost like chatting with an old friend and I clicked with her right away. She's never once made me feel judged, or talked down to me for how I'm feeling or when I share my experiences. I have and will continue to recommend her and this site to anyone who is looking into getting into therapy. I'm very grateful for getting paired with her.
