About Me
Welcome! My name is Zach Gibson (he/him) and I am a clinical therapist currently licensed in the State of Illinois. I have worked in human services for approximately 13 years, and have been providing individual, couples and family therapy for the last 6 years. I earned my BS in Psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and my MS in Counseling from National Louis University.
When it comes to therapy, I truly believe, at any given moment, that we as humans are doing the best we can or know how to meet our needs. My approach to therapy is collaborative, from goal setting to treatment interventions, because you are the expert on your own experiences, in and out of the therapy space. I provide an open and affirming space, from a trauma-informed lens, for exploration of anything life might bring your way. My experience has led me to support clients managing anxiety, depression, family conflict, trauma response, exploration of gender & sexuality, and many other life circumstances requiring support. Using a variety of strategies, primarily from Client Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Narrative Therapy, I encourage clients for exploration & processing leading toward personal growth.
It takes courage & strength to even consider reaching out for support. When you're ready, I look forward to being able to help you on your journey!

Reviews
These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Zach Gibson. We don’t pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.
Zach has been incredible from the day I first met him. He understood what my needs were and we are working closely to get me back to better mental health. He is an incredible person and an even better therapist. I cannot thank him enough.
