I want to give you a little bit of background so that you have the information you need to decide if I am the person you want to work with; you have the opportunity to size me up and see if this is the right fit. I have been a therapist for several years and I have worked with all clients from all different backgrounds and orientations, in different settings including, but not limited to schools, law enforcement, hospitals, domestic violence and human trafficking related organizations, managed care, and private practice. Before I became a therapist I was a meditation teacher for several years; I have always been dedicated to helping people find their own answers. It is my objective to help you achieve your goals at your pace and in a way that makes sense for you. I will also help you to become more clear about how you want your life to look as well as help you find a road map to get there. Counseling is an interesting and dynamic process that can feel like you are on a journey. Making sure that we are the right fit is extremely important to your success.
I use a multi-pronged approach that will incorporate traditional therapy strategies that you may have heard of such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), as well as Mindfulness and somatic (body awareness) interventions. However, you are the expert of you and I will always respect your feedback.
