About me

I am a Marriage & Family Therapist and have been providing therapy, consultation and support to individuals for over 12 years. I lived and worked in Hilo, Hawaii for many years where I completed my education before moving to California. I have worked with people from all walks of life and from many cultures experiencing myriad challenges that life can present.

We live in a demanding culture in which the choices and pressures of everyday life can become overwhelming; confusion, depression and anxiety can be a result. To combat the pressures of depression and anxiety, cognitive behavioral therapy can help one generate self-affirming ideas and change thought patterns towards a hopeful and resilient future. Career and lifestyle choices can be daunting and cause both interpersonal and intrapersonal conflict. To relieve stress and gain perspective, I focus on mindfulness and integrative practices leading toward a centered and more balanced life. For individuals struggling to balance career with relationship or family demands, I can offer a solution-focused approach.

Every person is interesting and I enjoy the journey of discovery with everyone, increasing insight and finding solutions. I recognize that people are incredibly unique and they have freedom of choice in all aspects of lifestyle, personal relationship and family arrangement. I deeply respect each person and their choices.

Zoe helped me unpack my emotional “baggage”, grief that I have carried for years and didn’t know how to process on my own. I felt seen, heard, and respected when I shared my experiences with Zoe. I especially appreciate how she would recall small details from previous sessions, this showed me not only was she listening attentively, but she was also expert at her job. I highly recommend working with Zoe!
