About me

Trained in a scientist-practitioner model, I utilize empirically-based interventions to help my clients overcome life's inevitable challenges. When unexpected events happen in life many people turn to negative ways of coping with depression, stress, anger, or anxiety. Finding help can be a difficult process. I hope that as your therapist we can work together on exploring how to best address your stressors, symptoms, and concerns. I tailor my approach to my patient's needs in order to help provide the tools and guidance to manage negative feelings, emotions, or impulses in more positive and productive ways. I have over 25 years of experience working with youth, adults, and older adults in individual counseling, family therapy, group and couples counseling.

My areas of expertise include, but are not limited to, working with at-risk youth and their families, trauma, addiction, relationship issues, health(mind-body) and rehabilitative psychology as well as depression, anxiety, and/or acute stress. I hope that I can be of assistance to you during your time of need.

My theoretical approach is mainly cognitive behavioral, however, I integrate and personalize my interventions according to my clients specific needs and desired outcomes via incorporation of humanistic-client centered, rational emotive behavioral, interpersonal, mindfulness methods.

I am culturally aware and am fluent in Spanish. I understand the culture, mores and idiosyncrasies of Latinos.

In synopsis, if you are asking yourself what is counseling and is it right for me then I highly encourage the following caveat: it is a commitment to a comprehensive, multi-tier assessment that is followed by a consistent, structured process that may require considerable time and effort in order to increase the likelihood of a productive process and favorable outcome(s).

Thanks to his support I’ve felt more empowered to take actions I previously wouldn’t have. Life has been better because of that
