About me

I am dually Licensed Professional Counselor in North Carolina (#2391) and Virginia (#07011008258) and have over 20 plus years of clinical experience. My experience includes working with couples, families, and individuals on relationship issues, family conflict, trauma and abuse, addiction, depression and mood disorders, anxiety, and women’s issues.

Counseling is a process by which we work together to identify and work on any issues you bring to our sessions. My approach to counseling operates from a strength base approach to help you identify your strengths within yourself and develop self-awareness that will aid you to meet you goals through your active involvement as well as efforts to change your thoughts, feelings and behaviors. Sometimes change will be easy and swift, but more often it will be slow and deliberate; effort may need to be repeated. I’m here all the way to work collaboratively with you and help you reach your goals.

My therapeutic approach is eclectic typically blending “Gestalt Therapy” developed by Fritz Perls, “Cognitive Behavior Therapy” developed by Aaron Beck, “Reality Therapy” developed by William Glasser, “Motivational Interviewing” developed by William R. Miller and Stephen Rollnick, and “Strategic Family Therapy” developed by Jay Haley.

I look forward to working with you and exploring and building on the strengths you already have.
