Annie Taylor
About me
Finding the right therapist is an important step, and I believe therapy works best when you feel accepted, understood, and able to be yourself. My aim is to provide a warm, compassionate, and non-judgemental space where you can explore whatever has brought you to therapy at your own pace.
I am a UK-based psychotherapist with experience supporting people facing a wide range of challenges, including anxiety, stress, trauma, low self-esteem, confidence issues, anger, relationship difficulties, grief, and life transitions. Before founding Flickering Mind and practicing privately, I worked across a variety of settings, supporting children, young people, adults, individuals living with long-term health conditions, and people involved in the criminal justice system. These experiences have reinforced my belief that everyone deserves to be heard and that no one should feel they are "too much" or "too complicated" for therapy.
I offer therapy that adapts to you rather than expecting you to fit into a particular approach. Alongside traditional psychotherapy, I also provide Interactive Therapy through online gaming, creating a unique therapeutic environment that can help clients—particularly young people, gamers, and those who find face-to-face conversations difficult—feel more comfortable engaging in the therapeutic process.
My work is grounded in respect, honesty, empathy, and authenticity. I value individuality and believe that every person has their own story, strengths, and way of making sense of the world. Rather than trying to "fix" people, I see my role as walking alongside you, helping you understand yourself more deeply, develop resilience, and discover your own answers. I am comfortable sitting with uncertainty, emotional pain, and the difficult moments that life can bring, knowing that meaningful change often begins by simply having someone who is willing to stay with you through them.
Reaching out for support takes courage, and whether you're looking for help with a specific challenge or simply feel that something isn't quite right, you're welcome here. Together, we'll create a therapeutic approach that reflects your individual needs, goals, and pace, helping you move towards a life that feels healthier, more balanced, and more fulfilling.
