About Me

My name is Aaron Landry, I am an experienced Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I have been practicing for over 15 years and I am currently licensed in both Maine and Florida. I have worked with the entire spectrum of the population from children to the older adults. I have experience working with and helping people recover from depression, anxiety, stress related disorders, bi-polar disorder, divorce and custody issues.

It is my firm belief that everyone feels overwhelmed from time to time and could benefit from having a neutral person to talk to without judgement. I also believe that everyone is capable of recovery and should be afforded the opportunity to lead their best life. I practice cognitive behavioral therapy and solution focused therapy. My goal is to build a professional relationship with my clients with the sole purpose of working together to solve what it is that they feel is a problem in their life, or simply to listen if someone needs to process out loud while they organize their life or work through a transition. My emphasis is starting and adapting where you feel most comfortable. Need help? Let's talk.

Aaron is personable, empathetic, and really does an excellent job balancing actively listening to whatever is on your mind, while working with you to find actionable steps to help cope with or improve your situation. I would absolutely recommend working with him to anyone.

Aaron is helpful at giving me practical advice and weekly goal setting to make forward progress and help provide some structure in a season where I have a lot of open ended directional questions.

I've been participating in therapy with Aaron for about a year now. Through therapy I discovered I have ADHD; Aaron was instrumental in helping me connect the dots, and has been providing encouragement on my quest for an official diagnosis. He has helped me identify and alter negative thoughts and patterns of behavior with unmatched compassion. No matter the issue, I come away from our sessions with increased clarity and optimism. He is kind, non-judgemental, and most importantly, he laughs at all of my stupid jokes. 10/10 would recommend.

I am really grateful to have gotten Aaron as a counselor. He literally listens to me and I feel like we have good enough rapport that he knows how to speak to me and get me out of my own head. I may be putting in the work but he has laid out a wonderful path for guidance that helps me get to where I need to be. I couldn’t be happier and have come a long way since we first started counseling.

I have been impressed with the knowledge Aaron has passed along to me. He is able to take all my thoughts thrown at him at once and break it down to a simple sentence. I then don’t feel overwhelmed and have a plan to achieve health and happiness.
We relate very well even with different ages and genders. I actually think it is a better fit.

Written by A.N. on May 26, 2021 after therapy with Aaron for 5 months on issues concerning depression, relationship issues, trauma and abuse, and anger management

Aaron was a really great fit for me. During our sessions, he actively listened to me, helped me set goals for lowering my emotional intensity, and talked me through some skills for dealing with stressful situations. Over the past few months, I've moved from not wanting to see anyone at all to having a more active social life, from hating my parents to having a more empathetic view of them, from having complete meltdowns and long bouts of depression to handling them with better perspective, and from attacking my partner during conflict to looking for a more mutually beneficial approach. Aaron has helped me through this process as an excellent, professional counselor, and now I have the tools I need to move forward.

I have always struggled to find a therapist that worked well for me, Aaron is the first therapist I’ve had that I have confidence and has helped me so much in just a few short sessions.

My husband and I are so pleased with the marriage counseling service Aaron provided us. With 10 years in marriage we needed a little re-adjusting on communication and Aaron helped guide us to newer ways to hear each other out. We definitely recommend Aaron Landry as a marriage counselor.

Aaron does a great job listening and really processing what I have to say before responding. I always feel like his responses are relevant and calculated rather than canned or generic.

Written by J.A. on May 27, 2020 after therapy with Aaron for 2 weeks on issues concerning family conflicts

I have only had a couple sessions with Aaron but feel as though he understands our situation and listens and offers very sound ideas on how to handle the problems in a more productive way. Highly recommend his services.

When I first signed up for BetterHelp, I was skeptical. I signed up for online therapy due to the coronavirus. I was scared, obsessing, and spiraling fast.
Aaron immediately knew what style of counseling would work best for me and sent me a worksheet to work on until I saw him next.
In the meantime, I started spiraling again so I signed up for webinars and sent him a little note telling him how I was feeling.
Soon after, he sent me a few reassuring messages that really stuck with me and gave me hope.
I’ve been in traditional CBT for almost 15 years and this is my first time actually being able to see my end goal and the steps I need to take to get there.

I’m so glad I signed up for this.

Aaron is very supportive, both in trying to find ways and times that would work for both of us to meet - and also in his friendly but professional listening and questioning style. The 'homework' he set also helped me to reflect on what we talked about in the session and the check ins in-between sessions are a nice touch, it was reassuring to know that he was holding me in his mind until the next session.

Even after a few sessions with Aaron, I felt like I had clarity on many things that had previously been somewhat foggy in my mind. I would definitely recommend him as a counselor!

I feel heard. Aaron helps me to see that I am someone worthy of being prioritized and trusted. That's very difficult in my reality of other people consistently questioning my judgement and decision-making ability. Aaron helps me to break down the issues and then make sure I am focusing on myself too. I highly recommend him.
