About me

Welcome and hello! My Name is Adam and I am an Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Pennsylvania. I am also a nationally board-certified counselor (NCC) and school counselor (NCSC). I have experience working with children as young as 6 and adults as old as 76, and everything in between! For the past decade, I have worked in various settings with teens, college students, and adults struggling with anxiety, depression, substance abuse and addiction, relationship and family conflicts, grief and loss, and life transitions.

I help people through the lens of narrative therapy, which means you and I will start our time together talking about your personal stories – the people, the places, and the experiences that make up who you are – and as time progresses, we will process the themes of these stories and how you understand the way the impact your life. I also use strategies and techniques from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and motivational interviewing (MI).

In simple terms, most of my work has been supporting incredible people who are experiencing distressing life circumstances and transitions. I have witnessed many of these people successfully navigate these challenges and thrive through the counseling process. If you are struggling with diagnosed mental health difficulties or just a hard season of your life, I would be honored to support and help you discover healing and growth. I look forward to working with you!

This is my 3rd time coming back to Adam. Our lives and experiences couldn't be any different (aside from some things), yet he does his best to understand me. I'm confident in his expertise.

Adam is not only a great therapist, he's an all around great person to the core. He truly cares about his clients and is focused on understanding their challenges while giving them tools to overcome their challenges. I would highly recommend working with Adam in the future!

Adam is wonderful. He listens really well and offers gentle support and encouragement at all times. Adam is one of those genuinely caring souls that feels like a safety net when life throws you off a tall building. Always thoughtful and articulate, I feel like he "gets me" and it's such a relief to talk to someone who understands you like a dear friend would. Trust that you are in good hands with Adam!

Adam has been tremendously helpful in helping me to understand the bad habits and narratives I was possessed by that were leading me into making bad decisions that negatively affected my life. He’s very attentive and devoted to helping you achieve your goals and getting the most out of the experience. I couldn’t be more pleased with my experience.

I was very skeptical about counseling, but Adam and BetterHelp have completely changed my mind. I am not exactly sure how or why it is working for me, but it definitely is. Adam seems to have a way about him where he not only listens and understands, but also tells me what I need to hear and not necessarily what I want to hear. For someone like me this is a huge benefit.

I suffered all my life with alcoholism and as soon as I made the jump into sobriety, all my feelings started coming back. A lot of these feelings were wonderful, but many were nearly crippling. Depression and anxiety seemed like they were starting to take over my life entirely. Adam has helped with this, by showing me positivity for the times that I successfully cope with this. This has helped me to see that I can overcome (or at least manage) these feelings in a successful way.

I recently went through a breakup with my girlfriend of almost 2 years and it flipped my entire world upside down, but I never thought to run to a drink and I was also able to salvage a valuable friendship from the relationship, which is something I have always failed to do in the past. I don’t know if I owe that to BetterHelp or not, but I do know that before starting counseling those types of outcomes were near impossible for me.

I would absolutely recommend Adam and BetterHelp for anyone that feels like I once did.
