About me

Are you ready to create meaningful change in your life? Do you worry about your own effectiveness as an individual, partner or caregiver? Is it a challenge for you to respond to life stressors calmly and appropriately in a manner that promotes a positive view of self? My goal is to help spare you undue suffering so that you can meet or exceed your desired level of functioning and have the life that you deserve.

For nearly 10 years I have had the pleasure of helping adults, families and young people who attend therapy. My integrative therapeutic approach is tailored to meet the needs of my clients and draws upon a variety of treatment modalities which include: person-centered, feedback-informed, motivational interviewing, solution-focused, behavioral modification, trauma-focused, cognitive-behavioral, rational-emotive and dialectical-behavioral therapies.

With approximately 10,000 hours clinical experience I have had the opportunity to assist clients of all ages. My clients have helped me to build a reputation for developing quick rapport and a strong therapeutic alliance, by offering respect, unconditional positive regard, and a warm supportive counseling environment. My understanding of AD/HD, anxiety, and the ability to teach clients how to work through anger/stress are areas of strength. I have led anger management groups in clinical practice and in community settings. I am also comfortable working with survivors of sexual assault/abuse, and have additional training in acceptance and commitment therapy.

It is my belief that a therapeutic relationship is most beneficial when it is personal and authentic. I enjoy using humor to share stories relevant to your individual needs, which can serve to enrich the counseling experience by adding color and warmth. I strive to provide my clients with the opportunity to be heard and tell their story in a private, secure setting free from judgment. I commend you for making an important first step and seeking additional support at this time.

Please contact me so that I may help you to begin meeting your personal goals.

Adam is very easy to open up to, even from the first session I felt like I knew him beforehand. It’s a session I look forward to each week!

I completely recommend Adam.
Adam is amazing. He is kind, thoughtful, and listens intently.
Adam often shares parts of his own life to connect to yours- which is often not a technique many therapists tend to use anymore. I personally LOVE that tactic about him. It connects me to him, makes me feel heard, and I know that when he is challenging me to adapt to a harmful circumstance; that he is recommend what is best for me.
Nobody wants a therapist who acts like a know-it-all, or thinks they are the only ones with the correct tactics to handle life. Adam is great at working gently with his clients to unravel hurtful feelings and hear what you think might work for you.
Seriously, if you’re looking for someone in your corner- Mr. Williams is your guy.
