About me

I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker clinically trained in mental health. I obtained my Masters in Social Work at the University of Cincinnati. I have worked with adults and children in multiple settings such as inpatient, outpatient, in groups and individually. I have worked over the past 10 years with a variety of diagnoses and life circumstances. I have found it important to ensure a positive and productive treatment environment. I have assisted people healing from trauma to overcoming fear and obstacles in life.

I find it very important to build on trust and the therapeutic relationship when working with clients. I want people to feel safe enough to open up and comfortable enough to want to work through the therapeutic process to healing and problem solving. Techniques from Cognitive Behavioral, Strength Based, Motivational Interviewing, Trauma Focused Therapies and so on are used to assist clients over a period of consistent sessions. I believe having a "no judgment zone" approach is key to building the relationship to get the work done.

Reviews

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Ahja Harris. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

Ahja has helped me work through many of my inner struggles, and been an excellent guide in helping me view my experiences from a more objective lens. I feel like anything I say here won't do justice to how supported I've felt. Every time I try to think of how to express my gratitude I realize I've started to speak in clichés! She's wonderful.

Ahja Harris is a phenomenal counselor. I’ve recommended multiple family members and friends to BetterHelp because of how amazing and understanding she has been. She really cares about what you’re going through. I initially was skeptical to begin counseling from poor past experiences, but Ahja Harris has completely changed my perspective in counseling and mental health.
