About Me

Hello and welcome - I appreciate your visit to my page!

I see counseling as a collaboration between client and counselor - clients want to feel their best and function at full potential, and my role is to provide quality, customized care to help them do that. I am a big believer that even small changes can significantly impact internal well-being and external influence. I partner with clients to identify and build on strengths so they can face challenges, create solutions, and feel better. Licensed in Illinois and Connecticut for more than 17 years, I have worked as counselor, consultant, trainer, and advisor in both higher education and private practice.

Much of my work has been with clients in transition. Change can be hard, and people who ask for help as they face it are brave. With an approach specific to each individual, consisting of a personalized set of strategies drawn largely from humanistic, cognitive, acceptance and commitment, and solution focused therapies, I support and encourage clients as they work to adjust to new roles, situations, expectations, and realities and help them cope with the resulting symptoms and feelings.

It is a privilege to help clients work through a difficult time as they progress through life’s inevitable changes, and I would be honored to work with you!

I feel that Aili respects me and makes genuine efforts to put herself in my shoes and see the world as I do. She is not beholden to a certain treatment or therapy modality, but instead uses the experiences to guide her advice and counseling. It is amazing how much she seems to understand me given how little time I have spent working with her. Would highly recommend her!

From the moment we were connected on BetterHelp, Aili has been patient, supportive, and respectful. She has been clear about her availability so that she can set expectations on response time. I would definitely recommend Aili and BetterHelp.

She is spot on with advice. She told me my problem was the trauma I was going through. I didn't perceive the abuse that was being handed to me. I thought that was normal parenting when your child has mental health issues. Now I am working on myself with my husband. Great counseling. Moving forward!

Aili has been supportive from day one. She really takes the time to read and respond to each part of my messages and encourages me in self-care and in the progress I'm making. She helps me set appropriate boundaries where needed and I'm grateful for her perspective and help.

Aili is just so good. She's really thoughtful and professional. I feel lucky to have her as my therapist.
