About Me

Hi, my name is AJ Spoerner. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Indiana with over 20 years of experience providing integrated interventions to help adults and adolescents that have experienced complex trauma, difficulty with impulsivity, anger management, and ADHD.

I have a particular interest in providing interventions, strategies, and support to adults and adolescents with chronic pain, illness, disability, distress related to cancer treatment, as well as end-of-life issues.

I hope to provide you with interventions and strategies to help you with negative thinking and believes that are impacting your behavior and are causing you pain and distress. You have taken an enormous step by finding this site and finding a counselor to meet your needs. I will be honored if you choose to work with me.

I check messages Monday through Friday twice daily. On weekends and holidays, I will check messages one time a day. Please note therapy sessions are only by phone/audio from computer or live video. I also ask for 24 hours notice if you need to cancel an appointment.
I look forward to working together.

AJ is so kind. He listens without judgment and gives thoughtful suggestions and perspectives. He also provides great resources to help work through issues and that teach useful strategies for addressing issues and situations that continue to come up. I can't speak highly enough about AJ or his gentle, honest approach.
