About Ajani (Angel)McMullen-Williams (She/Her)
Ajani (Angel) McMullen-Williams is a graduate of NYU Silver School of Social Work. She began her career as a therapist in New York City, working in community mental health. There she served clients who had a high need for therapy, but limited resources and access to mental health services. Ms. Williams’ practice modalities include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), and level one Gottman Method. Clients of Ms. Williams’ will receive treatment that centers on their particular set of needs and treatment goals.
Adhering to a style of practicing that has the therapist meeting the client where they are, Ms. Williams, also includes culturally sensitive practices in her treatment style methods. Clients can rest assured that Ms. Williams will facilitate therapy that considers their cultural background, internal understanding of themselves, societal positioning, and their personal history. Believing that the therapy space should be judgement-free and tailored to the clients’ needs, Ms. Williams, aims for every client to feel supported and respected as they undergo their therapeutic process. AMW Counseling Service warmly receives individuals in the LGBTQ+ community, differently abled community, BIPOC communities, and kink and polyamorous communities. Ms. Williams works with individuals, families, and those in committed romantic relationships.
