Albert Thrower

About Me

I am passionate about empowering you to live a fulfilling life on your own terms. I have experience working with teens and adults challenged by depression, anxiety, ADHD, trauma, motivational challenges, grief, and more. I am also a working artist, and I enjoy helping clients embrace the healing power of creative expression (or not, according to their preference!).

My counseling style is highly collaborative--while you might need some help getting moving on change, it is always my goal to give you the skills you need to thrive. I treat everyone with respect and compassion--there is never any judgment in my sessions. Believe me, I have heard it all.

I will custom-craft a therapeutic approach to fit you, instead of trying to fit you into my comfort zone. I am a capable practitioner of CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, Person-Centered Therapy, and other methods. I draw from all of these in my work, according to your personality, needs, and strengths.

I am glad you are seeking help--it's the first and sometimes hardest step. Whether you choose me or someone else, you're on the right track so keep at it!

Albert was one of my first therapeutic contacts. Within a few weeks, he told me a couple of very useful things, that only flourished to their true meaning, as I applied them to my own life. He has a habit of gently leading you yourself to look at your own stuff, instead of pointing it out directly. The method of CBT was very convenient and gave me tools to check out my own deceptive behaviors in an ongoing process.

Albert is very accommodating, always punctual, and focused on directly supporting the concerns I've expressed. He also has made useful suggestions where suitable.

Albert is amazing. He is extremely kind, non-judgemental and caring. He has a great manner and has a great gift in listening and being able to respond in a way that is supportive. I already feel much better in myself from his counselling.
