Alexandra C Ernst, LCSW
About me
Hello, I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Pennsylvania with over 30 years of experience helping individuals who feel anxious, overwhelmed, burned out, stuck, or uncertain during major life transitions. I support clients managing anxiety, chronic stress, overthinking, emotional overwhelm, grief, low self-esteem, burnout, and work- and relationship-related stress.
My approach is collaborative, evidence-based, and tailored to each client’s specific needs—not a one-size-fits-all model. Therapy focuses on emotional regulation, anxiety management, communication skills, boundary-setting, reducing control-based stress patterns, and building self-acceptance, confidence, and personal agency.
I frequently work with clients navigating social anxiety, workplace stress, career challenges, caregiver stress, family dynamics, midlife transitions, identity shifts, and questions related to purpose or direction. With extensive experience supporting diverse populations, I am particularly attuned to the needs of middle-aged and older adults, LGBTQ+ individuals, and those experiencing complex life and relationship transitions.
I offer affirming, non-religious counseling in a supportive, non-judgmental space where you can feel heard, respected, and empowered to develop meaningful coping strategies and move toward sustainable, positive change—at a pace that feels right for you.

I have tried therapy a dozen times throughout my life. Although, I have been matched with some therapists who were not a fit and some that were an okay fit, Alex is the first therapist who I have felt fully confident and comfortable with. One of the best things about Alex is how she is able to challenge my way of thinking, in a respectful and empathetic manner. I am so grateful to have been matched with Alex!
