About me

I am licensed in Alabama with 8 years of professional work experience. I have experience in helping clients with relationship issues, trauma and abuse, coping with grief and loss, & intimacy related issues. I practice from a person centered approach that incorporates a trauma informed biopsychosocial model of care. My main goal as a therapist is to provide a safe space for my clients to show up as their authentic selves where they can explore the depths of their thoughts and feelings without fear of judgement, shame, or expectations.
As psychologist Carl Rogers said,
"When someone really hears you without passing judgment on you, without trying to take responsibility for you, without trying to mold you, it feels damn good. . . .

When I have been listened to and when I have been heard, I am able to re-perceive my world in a new way and to go on. It is astonishing how elements which seem insoluble become soluble when someone listens.

How confusions which seem irremediable turn into relatively clear flowing streams when one is heard. "

Alisha is an excellent therapist. She really listens and gets to the root causes of whatever I’m dealing with. She is very supportive and caring in her feedback. I have been to many therapists before and she is the best by a mile.

Alisha and I have just recently begun our relationship, but I have complete confidence in her ability. She is empathetic, understanding, and provides the validation I need without judgement. She has been so adept at helping me understand the emotions behind my actions and helping empower me to take care of my mental health.

Alisha is better than I could have hoped for. She made me feel comfortable talking to her right away. She has a really kind and understanding manner. I have told her things about myself that I’ve never told anyone. For the first time in my life I feel like I can be myself while talking to another person. I am confident that Alisha can help me find a better way to be and feel.
