About Me
Hello! My name is Alison and I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in the State of Ohio. I studied Psychology at Miami University (2007) and received a Master's degree in Clinical Counseling from the the University of Dayton (2009). I have since worked with a variety of clients across multiple settings including the past 8 years in private practice. I focus on anxiety and depression as well as relationships, family conflict, parenting and postpartum. I also have an extensive history working with young adults and college age students.
I practice from a holistic and integrative perspective which includes looking at all facets of the individual’s life and using appropriate interventions to help clients create positive, permanent change. I utilize a variety of approaches to do this including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Approach, and Systems Theory. I very much believe in meeting the client where they are at and tailoring an individual plan to help you begin to feel better.
It may not always be easy, but I will be here to help you safely explore negative emotions and focus on your goals. Therapy is a unique relationship and I will bring honesty and compassion to the process as well as provide a nurturing environment for you to speak freely and grow. I look forward to working with you!

I have been working with Alison for a few months now, and she is truly incredbile! She is very insightful, and her calm demeanor is so reassuring and helpful. She has intelligent, relevant ideas about my issues and I leave every session understanding my situation better in a new light, and/or with new strategies to help me achieve my goals. Alison is the best counselor I have ever worked with and I am so happy with my progress since I have had the pleasure to work with Alison!
Alison is extremely helpful and I appreciate her feedback regarding what I am attempting to personally manage.
Alison is very understanding, patient, supportive, and emotionally intelligent. She helped me identify key struggles in my life and how it tied into my relationship problems at the time, my career path, and my tendencies as a person. She taught me ways to trust my gut better when making big life decisions and have confidence in myself. I highly recommend her to anyone who's going through an identity crisis, having relationship troubles, or learning how to be gentle with themselves!
Alison is great at what she does. I have seen drastic improvements in my healing process and I know I wouldn’t be where I am without Alison’s knowledge and guidance. She prompts realizations within yourself by giving you the tools you need to get there. I would recommend Alison to anyone.
This being my first therapy experience, I was unsure of what to expect. But Alison made the whole process seem completely natural and easy, like I had been doing it my whole life. She not only helped me with what I was going through currently but helped instill a method of thinking that I can carry for the rest of my life. I can't say enough good things about my experience, and I highly suggest Alison to anyone looking to have as pleasant of an experience as I did. Thank you Alison, and thank you Betterhelp for making the entire therapy process streamlined and Covid friendly!
Alison is a great listener. She asks thought provoking questions and has helped me see things from a different perspective. She offers an unbiased and supportive viewpoint and has helped me identify ways to take small steps in addressing my personal goals, objectives, and concerns.
Alison has made me feel supported in a way no other mental health professional has. As a first time mom, struggling with adjusting to my new life, while also dealing with past issues that need mending, Alison has made me feel understood and seen. she is knowledgeable and relatable, and always willing to work with me on session times. she's never cancelled or rescheduled any of our sessions, is always promptly ready at our start time, and to top it off she responds to messages at least once daily Monday-Friday.
Alison helped me work through my problems in an extremely beneficial manner. What I mean is she didn't just tell me what to do, I think in fact she never once said to do anything, she gave a recommendation a few times but she helped me work out my problems on my own. She help me help myself and I can't think of a better way to help someone.
I love working with Alison! she is good at what she does and always responds. She listens & you can really tell she loves her job.
