About me

I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Georgia. I have a BA degree in Psychology and Master's degree in Counseling Psychology. In March of 2006, I was granted partial licensure as a Licensed Associate Professional Counselor (LAPC) after passing the state licensure exam. After completing more than 3000 hours post-Master's professional counseling experience, I became fully licensed as a Licensed Professional Counselor in March of 2010. I have additional certification as a Certified Spiritual Christian Counselor (SCC-S) for those interested in incorporating a Christian based approach into their treatment plan. These services are available upon request.

My passion is to support those struggling with depression, stress & anxiety, family or peer conflict, trauma history, school or career challenges, parenting, and grief and loss. I have a wealth of experience treating those facing major life changes and specialize in crisis intervention and safety planning.

My background includes working individuals & families, including Veterans, homeless, and at-risk youth populations. In the past, I've worked with major health insurance companies where I assessed & authorized mental health & substance abuse treatment for inpatient, intermediate, and outpatient levels of care. Additionally, I've been a Family Therapist and a Clinician in a crisis call-center, where I assessed and provided crises intervention for suicidal, mental health, and substance abuse consumers. Furthermore, I've worked as a Social Service Specialist with DFCS in the Child Protective Services division.

My goal is to help individuals heal, restore hope, and become aware of their inner strengths. I achieve this by providing a neutral & safe space, listening to your concerns with a nonjudgmental approach, and customizing a treatment plan in a collaborative effort. My treatment model incorporates CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) & Reality (Choice) Theory. I help clients gain insight into their negative thought patterns and behaviors and teach ways to control your response to the things happening around you. By teaching you to work on your response and perspective in a situation, you learn how to create the best possible outcome to each chapter in your book. I believe in using a strength-focused approach to help you through life's ups and downs. Everyone has the ability to grow, change, or conquer whatever they are faced with. I am committed to walking with you on your journey! My passion to serve as a "change agent" has enabled me to successfully promote and empower individuals to lead productive, fulfilling lives!
