About Me

I am a licensed clinical social worker with over 20 years of experience working as a therapist in various inpatient and outpatient settings. I have worked with clients on multiple concerns, including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, grief, parenting problems, career, and life transition challenges. In addition, I have extensive experience in working with clients who struggle with behaviors and symptoms related to obsessive-compulsive disorders, attention deficit, and hyperactivity disorders such as ADD and ADHD.

My therapeutic approach varies but is always client-centered. Through a strengths-based and solutions-focused lens, I draw on multiple treatment modalities to guide clients in identifying strengths and developing treatment plans that accomplish their goals. For example, through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), I assist clients in exploring relationships among thoughts, feelings, and behaviors to aid in discovering dysfunctional thought patterns leading to self-destructive behaviors and beliefs. Using Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), I support clients through developing skills: mindfulness, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, and emotion regulation to move clients towards a life involving the capacity for experiencing joy and freedom.

It takes courage and effort to seek a more fulfilling and happier life, and if you are ready to take that step, I am here to support and empower you.

I look forward to working with you.

From the first session she was unbelievably understand and respectful. She is definitely a great listener and keyed in on my needs immediately. She is compassionate and patient and has given me "homework" that has helped to open my eyes to what has been keeping me down. I would highly recommend her.

Allison is amazing. She’s incredibly thoughtful and wants to get to know you on a personal level prior to getting into the deeper topics. Allison works with you and you never feel that you will be pushed our pulled in a way in which you do not feel comfortable. She is trauma informed and helps work through your past without any judgment. The goals you she helps you set are obtainable and can be completed between sessions- and if you don’t complete them there is no judgment or questions. I cannot recommend Allison enough and I’m so thankful for her.

Allison is the best. She genuinely cares about you and wants to help you in any way she can. Allison goes above and beyond with care during sessions and in between them. Having Allison as my therapist has been one of the best things to ever happen to me!

I have insurance and could have gone to a local provider. But being "matched" with a therapist, along with 24/7 message board access and the fact that I would get to change therapist if it wasn’t a match was intriguing . Then, when I was matched with Allison, I felt like I won the therapist lottery! She is attentive, has a background in topics that I needed help with and is professionally vulnerable herself, making it more comfortable for me. I would absolutely recommend BetterHelp to match you to a therapist and I love being matched with Allison!

Having Allison as my therapist has been the most wonderful experience. She listens to me and helps me connect the dots where I need help but also helps me see my own ability to make these connections. I feel that I can confide in her and that she takes me seriously. I am very happy with the service she is providing.

Allison has been an amazing part of helping me in my personal mental health journey. She makes me feel secure in our conversations and employs great skill when helping me set my mental health goals and explore my issues. I’m lucky to haven’t gotten matched with such a great therapist.

I’ve been working with Allison for a couple of weeks now and I’ve never genuinely felt so comfortable with someone before! I’ve been in and out of therapy for the better part of 13 years now and she is the only person to understand exactly what I need and how we need to proceed without overwhelming me. She’s kind, compassionate, and patient. I can’t wait to continue on my journey working with her!

Work with me!
