About me

Hi! My name is Allyson and I am a therapist working in Tennessee. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor - Mental Health Service Provider (LPC-MHSP) and a National Certified Counselor (NCC). I graduated with my Bachelors Degree in Psychology from Auburn University and my Education Specialist/Masters Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Clemson University.

The quote I base my practice off is, "Everything I am looking for, I can find within myself." I truly believe that we all have the strengths, resources, and abilities we need inherently. It is my goal to assist you in getting one step closer to living a more authentic, healthy, and fulfilling life. I am experienced in working with adults overcoming addiction, relationship issues, and mental health struggles. I strive to provide my clients with insight into their problems, help with interpersonal issues, and work towards helping them become empowered. I have a holistic approach to counseling which includes principles of CBT, motivational interviewing, 12-step, existential, and solution focused therapies. I believe in treating everyone with respect, honesty, sensitivity and most importantly in a non-judgmental manner.

I am available for messaging and phone sessions.

I can't wait to begin working with you!

Allyson always listens and helps me out concerns into perspective. She brings in a lot of outside references (books, podcasts, etc.) that help me learn and get insight about myself and others

I’m so happy working with Allyson! She is very easy to talk to, identifies my issues, and gives me some practical things to think about as I’m moving forward. She is young but insightful beyond her years. Warm, responsive, and doesn’t just give canned answers. Honestly I was skeptical about teletherapy but so far this has been totally positive.

Allyson is very relatable and has helped me work through my anxiety and negative thoughts.

Allyson helped me make it through the loneliest times of the pandemic and see my way through a loss of community that came from leaving the faith I had been a part of for so long. She was a non judge mental, listening ear, an encourager & a constant voice reminding me of my own strength. Her approach is gentle & she worked to help me find my own way while also asking the right questions when needed. She met me where I was & reassured me that where I was, was ok. She was open, funny and laid back which made it feel like talking to a friend. She was also quick to respond to messages & checked in regularly to make sure I was doing alright. I would highly recommend her!!

I have been working with Allyson for a couple months now, and I’ve really been able to start digging into some driving behaviors that I need to work on as well as discuss things that I need to cope better with. Allyson is really passionate about helping you explore further as well as being honest and blunt when asking you questions. If I haven’t reached between sessions she reaches out to me and will check in. I enjoy our sessions and I think her personality was well matched for mine.
