About me

In life, we will all have challenging experiences that may create feelings of uncertainty, sadness, anxiety (etc.) and may lead to issues with our self-esteem and our perspective on the world. I believe that every person has the capacity to grow through all of these difficult changes that life sometimes presents us with. I strongly believe that every person holds all of the answers within and my role as your therapist is to guide you into finding the answers you're seeking. This means that I will provide you with some skills and techniques that will have a positive influence on your life so that you may live the life you desire.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in North Carolina with a background in Mental Health and Military Social Work. I have 4 years of experience working with a diverse population providing therapy in English and Spanish. I specialize in treatment of depression, anxiety, trauma, acculturation, adjustment/life transitions, quarter life crisis, relationships, self-criticism, shame/worthiness and self-esteem/self-love. I have been described as an eclectic, intuitive, genuine, solution-focused, engaging, empathetic, optimistic therapist and pride myself in providing therapy in an individualized way to meet each client's needs. I utilize various treatment modalities which I have training in to include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing. I strongly believe in the connection between body/mind/spirit and often teach various techniques from Somatic Psychotherapy to help clients get out of their heads and connect to their bodies as our emotions often manifest in our body.

I believe that the most important relationship is the one we have with ourselves and this ultimately leads to positive effects in all other relationships you may have. In order to improve the relationship to self, we must explore within, challenge unhealthy belief systems and develop self-compassion. If you want to work with someone that will help you connect to yourself, then you have found the right person. I look forward to working with you and seeing the wonderful changes you will make!
