About me
Hi and welcome! I started my journey toward becoming a therapist by not knowing that's what I wanted to do and I genuinely believe the journey to discover my passion has made me a better therapist.
I began my college education certain that I was going to become a lawyer. As a result, I obtained a bachelor of arts degree in philosophy and another one in sociology. I went on to begin working on my first master's degree in sociology still convinced that I wanted to attend law school. While sociology is a field I love, my passion for it, and eventually law school, dwindled. After some deep self-reflection, I found that mental health counseling was the field for me.
Fast forward to today, I have my master's degree in mental health counseling and my treatment approach can best be described as direct while still having a strong appreciation for everyone's journey. I currently practice in Wyoming, where I live with two rambunctious dogs. I have experience treating PTSD, depression, anxiety, and grief/loss. I prefer to use cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and brief solution-focused therapy. I am also a trained EMDR therapist, which has taught me that the well-being of our bodies is critical to achieving mental well-being.
My journey has led me here. I look forward to learning more about you and your journey.
