I am a Licensed Professional Counselor practicing in Portland, Oregon since 2012. I work with individuals on a wide range of issues including depression, anxiety, gender and sexuality, life transitions, stress management, and relationship matters. I use empathy, compassion, and openness to help my client's feel comfortable and confident in their decision to address difficulties in their lives and create fulfilling paths for the future.
I believe that counseling is most effective when the client and therapist work together to identify strengths and areas of opportunity in an effort to create a richer life experience for the client. I believe that it is important to use treatments and techniques that have been carefully researched and found effective, so I take an evidence-based approach to therapy.
I have in-depth training in cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavior therapy, and experience using mindfulness, solution-focused therapy, and motivational interviewing. I pull from each of these domains to create a therapy experience that is tailored to the needs of each individual I work with.
I hold a B.A. in Psychology from Arizona State University and an M.A. in Counseling Psychology from Pacific University. I have specialized training in working with LGBTQ individuals and in trauma-informed care. I have varied experience including work with youth and adults, mandated clients, community mental health, and private practice.
I look forward to working with you!

I like her a lot. She is kind, understanding and certainly has great expertise in her profession. I feel quite comfortable working with her, and do highly recommend her. Thank you so much, Alyssa
Alyssa was very understanding and has helped me view things from a different perspective. She is responsive and I feel like has tried to meet my individual needs.
Alyssa is such a wonderful counselor. She's a great listener, extremely responsive, and listens to what my needs are and does not try to impose her own opinions on what she thinks my needs are. She provides great strategies to cope with the things I am going through and follows up to see how they're working. She's also very flexible. I like her very much and I was surprised to find that online counseling could be just as effective as in-person, at a fraction of the price.
Alyssa is a great counselor! She has helped me find ways to work through anxious feelings and thoughts and feel better about myself when I'm feeling bad about myself.
Ms. Moore has been helping me cope with a major health crisis for the last six months (that's when I found BetterHelp). The match software was great and our getting to know you sessions helped me to comfortable with her style and be clear about my own expectations. I appreciate how Alyssa listens and brings to my attention underlying issues. I can say pretty much anything to her and she responds thoughtfully and with compassion. She has taught me tools to manage my anxiety and she's helping me set goals to move forward as I recover from my health issue.I can't recommend her enough.
I can’t speak highly enough of Alyssa. I’m so glad I was matched with her. She provides exercises to apply to the hard moments. In a time I could have easily taken my life in a negative direction, she is there to remind my of my strengths. Overcoming my issues will take work, but I trust in Alyssa to guide me on my way to healing.
Alyssa has been extremely helpful. It's obvious that she is a professional and doesn't just tell me what I want to hear but tells me what I need to hear. She has been very accommodating regarding the session times that I choose as well. I can honestly say since I started counseling with her, things have improved in my life. I would recommend her to anyone in need of counseling.
