Profile:

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with 14 years of experience in providing counseling in an outpatient setting. I approach my clients from an open and client-directed approach. From this trauma-informed prospective, I am able to teach new coping skills, behavioral responses and more mindful ways to interact with the world. I have worked with adults of all ages, from many different backgrounds and many different perspectives. I have a unique understanding of issues involving infertility, foster care, and adoption and also understand the unique stressors of parenting the hurt child. I have worked with clients who struggle with addiction, depression, anxiety, interpersonal conflict and career coaching. Although change is not easy for most people, making these life changes can lead to meaningful progress.

I look forward to working with you to identify the changes you want to make in your life, so you can move forward with strength and confidence. When not providing counseling services, I enjoy playing the trumpet, hiking and spending time with my kids and family.

I always feel respected, listened to and encouraged through our sessions(: Amanda has made the experience of goal setting and achieving much less overwhelming and has encouraged my independence throughout the whole process! Thankful to have been matched with her.

Amanda helped me through a very difficult time in my life while also helping me with ways to cope with past trauma. She’s very intuitive and compassionate. She truly understands how you feel and why it effects you. She’s very blunt and honest, but in a caring and gentle way. This is the best therapy experience I have had thus far and I’d recommend her greatly.

I have only been working with Amanda for a short time, but I already have this overwhelming sense of hope. I’ve done therapy on and off for years and she’s the first therapist to actually ask the right things, listen to me and have me physically draw out diagrams she’s trying to explain. I look forward to working more with her, because I finally feel as if I’m being helped and listened to.
